I’ve tried to avoid this topic but here’s my take.
I understand the intention behind saying pregnancy is not a death sentence, but I find that statement kind of insensitive.
Pregnancy may not be a death sentence for most women, but it can absolutely be for some.
Women actually die from pregnancy related complications…some barely survive it.
Some sustain life-altering complications.
I think we should be careful not to invalidate these experiences in an attempt to make pregnancy sound less scary.
