I'm redesigning Silk's page for the thousandth time and asked Claude to put this section together. It's crazy to me how far Silk has come in such a short time.

LOOK LOOK LOOK
- GPU-accelerated UI framework similar to GPUI
- Works on Mac, Linux, Windows, and on the Web with WebGPU
- Fully compliant SVG rendering, including ANIMATED SVG
- Fully compliant css Flexbox and Grid layout
Every line of it written in Silk...
Very low level api at the moment, but of course, @foldkit will be the first framework to be supported...
Silk has an UI framework, a JS runtime, SVG rendering, font parsing, font shaping, Flexbox and Grid layout with better performance and better coverage than Yoga and Taffy, plus 260 modules on Silk's std lib, and a few other things I'm probably forgetting.
I could be wrong, but all things considered, I think we are almost ready for Silk's alpha release 👀

Not just for interop, it’s a systems language first, inspired by the Effect model. That said, how other compilers deprioritize wasm/browser integration always bothered me.
It amazes me that wasm has been out for almost a decade in all major browsers, and most compilers can’t even output a nice stack trace.
(I’m complaining, but with all the respect in the world as someone that knows writing a compiler is a shit ton of work and choices have to be made)

writing a compiler is a sequence of :
"Oooooh, thats why they did [thing that I hate in another language] this way"
After a long break away from Typescript Twitter, it’s so good to see companies, library authors pulling weight.
The TL is healing.

Invert Binary tree problem. Idea came to mind to create temporary var to store left node before overiding it, Since it goes from root -> Left -> right
Building a small TypeScript library that brings the parts of Rust I actually miss:
- Real Option & Result
- Pattern matching that feels like match
- Fixed-size arrays, channels, OnceLock, etc.
Goal: keep the ergonomics, stay in TypeScript.
Hey, I’m Mich (or themaker).
Design engineer by trade.
I’ve been quietly obsessed with making TypeScript feel a little more like Rust.
Started porting some of the ergonomics I miss the most. Option, Result, proper pattern matching, channels…
First bits are live. More coming.
