If you listen carefully it’s a misplaced anger at his own parents for not making him feel worthy that turned into raging jealousy of other children who had parents that lifted them up and poured into them. He’s projected all of that onto white people. He needs to mend his heart before thinking about running for any office. White ppl haven’t hurt him. He knows exactly who did. Notice how he doesn’t get the satisfaction he was craving when the interviewer simply anchors himself & doesn’t validate that experience. We should all do more of this. Don’t validate anyone’s experience for the sake of temporary bonding.

So, basically, 500 million Europeans expect 300 million Americans to protect them from 120 million Russians who can’t even defeat 40 million Ukrainians while those 500 million Europeans don’t even realize they are being conquered by 2 billion Muslims who claim they are being persecuted by 8 million Israelis. Is that about right? 1

Memorization has an unfairly negative reputation. I recently spent a few hours memorizing the names of all the countries in the world and it's such a clear improvement in how well I can understand and reason about other topics. Memorization is scaffolding for more complex ideas

A man who lost his voice to ALS is talking again at conversational speed. In his first week. No gala dinner did that. No foundation press release. No "commitment to awareness." Neuralink just shared early data from its speech restoration trial: one ALS participant hit 75 words per minute with a 5.8% error rate on a 125,000-word vocabulary, in the first week. For context, normal conversation runs around 120 to 150 words per minute. A few years ago, people in this condition were spelling words one letter at a time with their eyes. Now they're getting close to talking normally, in their own voice, straight from their brain. Let that sink in. A disease that slowly locks you inside your own body, and someone just built a door. And here's what's funny. For months, journalists and politicians have been telling us that Elon should "give his money away." Redistribute. Write the big check. Be a good billionaire. They have it backwards. Giving money away is the easy part. Anyone can sign a check. Most billionaire philanthropy today is reputation management. You fund a foundation, the foundation funds NGOs, the NGOs fund think tanks and campaigns, the think tanks shape policy, the media covers it warmly, and half the outlets covering it are owned or funded by the same billionaires. Everybody gets a nice headline. The money circulates in a closed loop of people who all know each other. The problem being "addressed" is still there twenty years later, because solving it was never really the business model. The business model was looking like you care. That's not philanthropy. That's crony capitalism with a charity logo on it. Now look at the other model. Give a voice back to people with ALS. Let paralyzed people control a computer with their thoughts, and push toward restoring movement. Work on giving sight back to the blind. Make electric cars mainstream and push transport toward autonomy so getting around doesn't cost a fortune. Put high-speed internet in villages no telecom company would ever bother with. Make access to space radically cheaper. Bet on robots and cheap energy that could one day make building a home affordable without signing up for 25 years of debt. None of that came from redistributing wealth. All of it came from creating it. That's the part people refuse to understand. Wealth is not a fixed pie you slice differently. It gets created when someone solves a real problem for real people at scale. And when you do that, you don't help a few thousand people with a grant. You change the baseline for billions of people, permanently, and the solution keeps getting cheaper every year. A check gets spent once. A solved problem stays solved. Gates-style philanthropy is going to fade in the coming decades. Not because the people are evil, but because the model is slow, political, captured by intermediaries and optimized for image. Gates himself has announced his foundation will shut down by 2045. Musk-style philanthropy will become the standard. It just doesn't call itself philanthropy. It's called entrepreneurship. Value creation. Capitalism. The most generous thing you can do for humanity is build something that makes an impossible thing ordinary. Ask the guy who just got his voice back.
Early Neuralink speech restoration data: We are enabling speech to text and voice at conversational rates in participants with ALS. One participant achieved 75 WPM at 5.8% WER on a 125k-word vocabulary in their first week.
