Proud dad moment:
My 18 year old offered to cover an opening shift (7:30 AM start ) after working a closing shift (9:15 PM end) so a coworker with a sick child can be home with his kid.
Recently, I discovered that physics is not my friend when I stumble
Stopping 330+ pounds from falling at almost 49 is not good for the knees
I managed to not fall, but I pulled something in my knee and per Doc orders will start this year wearing a knee brace. 🥺
As the federal govt is reviewing school lunch nutrition, I wanted to let them know that my school lunches in the 80s did NOT contribute to my weight issues.
I try not to have an ego in education. But when a mathematician you respect call your idea a “pro” move…

When you are teaching yourself how to code, and you finally figure something out that has been bugging you for YEARS!!!!
And worse, the answer was so much easier than you thought.
I blame the Quack I’m working with. He could have said something and helped me out… but Noooo😜

Today, I had an amazing opportunity to talk about CTE in CA with a Japanese Professor and Researcher from Osaka, Japan.
It would be amazing if that conversation led to collaborations that inspires teachers and bring opportunities to kids from both California and Japan.

Serious question regarding teacher shortages…
How many years of credit do you offer teachers that move?
Some teachers with 10+ years experience won’t even consider moving due to the insulting placement on salary schedules.

LOL. I have written some programs that need this comment…
But, in my defense, I’m writing code solo, for 4 different classes I teach and I learned everything from practitioners nothing over the last 6 years…
I’ve started writing better comments explaining functions now 😀
