I have no idea why renaming AI is so bizarrely important to Trump. Nobody cares about the name he chose. Nobody is using it or will use it. And it’s not even technically accurate because “super intelligence” already had an agreed upon, widely adopted definition. This is the weirdest political hill to die on. It gains you nothing. Not a single ordinary American in the country, anywhere, cares deeply about making sure people say “SI” instead of “AI.” We are days away from a major election and this bullshit is the focus? Just baffling.

Federal law under 18 U.S.C. § 592 prohibits any person in the civil, military, or naval service of the United States from ordering, bringing, keeping, or controlling troops or armed men at any place where a general or special election is held, except when necessary to repel armed enemies of the United States. Violation is a felony punishable by fine, up to 5 years imprisonment, and disqualification from federal office. This applies to armed federal agents, including ICE. Separate statutes also ban voter intimidation and election interference.
