career aisa choose kiya hai ki zindagi bhar upskill karte raho, phir bhi har subah layoff ka darr leke utho
one day without AI coding agents because of an office outage and i’ve never been humbled this hard as a software engineer🫠
what scares me about AI isn't that it's going to take my job. it's that it's slowly taking away the joy and sense of achievement i used to get from doing it myself.
i don't think we talk enough about this side of AI.
one thing i really miss about college is solving CF problems on loop while lectures in the background on google meet.
man, those were the days. 😭
Spent some time designing a Top-K autocomplete system.
Would love to hear your thoughts on it. What would you change or do differently? 👀
1/5 — Why average latency lies to you 🧵
Your API has an average latency of 50ms. Everything looks healthy.
But p99 latency is 2 seconds.
How can both be true?
Because averages hide the slow requests. And in distributed systems, the pain is often hiding in the tail. 💀
4/5 — The Microservices Trap
A service's p99 latency looks like an edge case in isolation.
But as dependencies grows, those edge cases increasingly show up in normal user requests.
The exception becomes the rule.
And your healthy-looking averages won't tell you the full story
since i graduated, both the stock market and the tech job market have been in a constant state of “it can’t get any worse” 💀
i genuinely respect people who come home after a hectic 9-hour workday and still have the energy to build or work on some stuff.
how do you guys do it? 😭
even with almost zero engagement on my tweets, i genuinely feel like X has helped me become more confident in expressing my thoughts.
i don't get why so many new grads in India judge engineers based on their DSA skills. DSA is just a one of barrier to entry these days. i've worked with people who weren't great at DSA but with exp. they made it and are really good at building softwares and understanding systems
I think most startup guys can't solve DSA problems and then say a startup is better.
Since the pay is much better at an MNC, the work-life balance is also better and you have better job security. You can learn anything you want since you have free time, rather than being restricted to the startup's requirements.
Why choose a startup? Is there any better reason?
record returns aren't just because of the bad job market. the over-immigration that happened in 2023 is also a big part of it.
my org capped claude usage at $60/month. third month in, and i've learned how to get more done with fewer tokens.
turns out, using AI efficiently is a skill in itself.
I’m so excited to watch this man bowl in the blue jersey again after four long years.
The rain is expected to ease up, so please let us have a game. 🙏
