One year of APA+ADT comes with toxicity, and outcomes after control-arm salvage aren't shown. His view: follow-up too short; would not yet support perioperative APA+ADT with RP in high-risk disease, needing mature survival and post-salvage data first.

#ESMO26 PROTEUS discussion by Nicholas van As
• No baseline PSMA PET; enrolled conventionally staged M0
• MFS events: true progression or delayed detection? Most were PSMA PET-detected (8.8% vs 16.3%)
• TTST HR 0.29, but ~20-mo lead-time bias

Freddie has been officially immortalized. He will always be remembered for his vision, commitment, and passion in working with Jenny Donovan and the rest of the ProtecT team to forever change the way we think about men affected by prostate cancer. I remain deeply saddened to learn he has pancreatic cancer, yet so happy he’s still doing well 5 years after the diagnosis. @QuinteTBristol @NehaVapiwala @TylerSbrt

@nickva1 @royalmarsdenNHS presenting 5 year outcomes of PACE-A @EmmaHall71 Surprised to see numerically less bowel bother in the SBRT arm, noting small numbers. Await sexual outcome data tomorrow @ASTRO_org #ASTRO26

I would call that a massive difference in clinical outcomes! (I know what you mean though!)

#ASTRO26: PACE-A showed 8-year biochemical/clinical failure-free rates of 91% with SBRT vs 84% with prostatectomy, although the difference was not statistically significant. SBRT also showed less urinary incontinence at 5 years. @nickva1 urologytimes.com/view/sbrt-p…

Great data!
Very proud of my whole team esp @indranilsays for brilliantly presenting the 1y AE data of the largest RCT in HR and N+ CaP.
SBRT is safe! Gr 3 AE very low.
More to follow....
Great study @alison_tree and lovely presentation @DrSACooper
Great presentation by @DrSACooper @ESTRO_RT showing low adverse events in both 5 and 2 fraction MRI-guided adaptive radiotherapy (HERMES trial), with minimal impact on quality of life in both arms.
