One of the things we never talk about in the academy is the state of our mental health. We imagine we're immune because of our education, status, & position in society. We hide under these lies about us and slowly sink into a mire that we rarely think we have sunk into.

Today the Makerere delegation toured the Peace Park and the Atomic Bomb Museum in Hiroshima, Japan. It was an unforgettable experience and a testimony to the extremes of human injustice. The eternal flame that will burn till all nuclear weapons are destroyed was particularly touching. We also toured the Itsukushima Shrine, a famous Shinto shrine, located on Miyajima Island in Japan and prayed for world peace.
