Every US plan is a Russian plan with a little blood money tossed in for Trump & Co. Rewarding an invading terror state only encourages more terror and invasions. If Russia wants to sell gas, it can get the hell out of Ukraine. If Europe wants that gas, win the war first.
The U.S. proposal: a quick resumption of Russian natural-gas sales to Europe via Ukrainian pipelines, with an American company acting as an intermediary and money going to an escrow account. Our scoop. wsj.com/world/europe/u-s-pusโฆ

The guy who compared a Trump rally to Jonestown on live Fox News was invited by the Trump campaign. They called his work phone on Monday and asked him to come.
His name is Tom Hoyle. He's 57 and runs a small custom printing shop in Charlotte called MadPark Designs with his business partner. He's hated Trump since 1989, back when he was a sophomore in college. And he really, really doesn't like getting sales calls on the shop line, from anybody.
So when the rally people called, he said yes. He even signed up with his real name and contact info, because he wanted it on the record that they invited him.
Then he had to get through the door. A private security guy asked him straight up if he was a Trump supporter. Tom told him he supports the Constitution, then started talking about his shirt, which was for an old death metal band called Death. He kept going about the history of Florida death metal until the guard gave up and let him in.
His plan going in was honestly pretty juvenile. He and a buddy he grew up with figured he'd wait a few minutes into the speech and yell something filthy.
Then a Fox News reporter, Lucas Tomlinson, found him standing off by himself and asked if he could interview him live. Tom thinks a white guy with a big beard and a ball cap was pretty much exactly what they were looking for.
He told himself he wasn't going to cuss on national TV, so he made it up on the spot. He says the first line and then just waits. The reporter goes "Wait, the Jonestown Massacre?" and that's when he finishes it.
He told The Handbasket he picked that up from Billy Crystal, who said on Letterman back in the '80s that you always let the other guy set up your punchline. Tomlinson set it up for him perfectly.
A few minutes later some men who said they were Secret Service pulled him aside. He asked if this was about the concession stand, because it closed early and he was starving. They didn't love that and walked him out. On his way out he passed the guard from the front door and told him, hey man, you didn't vet me too well.
Think about how many people had a shot at stopping this. The campaign's call list found him. The signup form had his name. A guard questioned him to his face. A Fox crew put him on live TV. Every one of them took one look at the beard and the hat and filled in the rest.
That's how almost all of this screening works. Asking somebody what they actually believe takes time, and looking at them takes a second, so everybody just looks.
The one check that actually caught him came after he'd already said it on national TV.

Stephen Miller, the same guy who is responsible for the killing of American citizens by ICE terrorists, decided it would be a fun "joke" to dress his kids up as an homage to russia for Halloween.
He even made the effort to buy a russian tank unit patch for his boy from a russian website.
In the other image, a Ukrainian father crying over the body of his daughter killed in a russian drone strike.
I honestly am starting to understand why many countries around the world hate America so much.
They were warned this would happen and yet they chose this a second time.
What the fuck are you going to do to wash this shame off you America?

"Within days, Russian soldiers poisoned their dog, an Alabai, along with all the other large dogs in Oleshky. They killed Liudmilaโs nextdoor neighbor and raped his wife. A local butcher disappeared; no one knew whether he was also killed. Some neighbors were detained and beaten. Armed, masked soldiers searched Liudmilaโs home three times, confiscating the coupleโs Ukrainian passports and leaving them with no documents. And yet, Liudmila and Andriy stayed. They got a new puppy, also an Alabai. Russian troops started to move into civilian houses, parking tanks in what once were gardens."

There is an absolutely WILD story in this @GergelyOrosz podcast episode
1. An unnamed CTO of a cash-flow-negative company was debating doing layoffs. AI
2. He says "I don't want to hurt morale like that, I won't do it"
3. A few months later, he says to @GergelyOrosz that he's cash flow positive. WTF. How?
4. The company had been licensing a component from a licensing company that was critical for their business.
5. One day, a dev thinks "what if we got an agent to build our own?"
6. The agent does so well that they produce a BETTER, FASTER version of the component they were licensing.
7. They debate open-sourcing it, and they ask the licensing company about it
8. The licensing company panics, and says "we will pay you NOT to open-source this"
9. They also say "we'll also pay you extra so we can re-license it"
10. So a big outlay became a recurring windfall, thanks to the ingenuity of a dev asking the right question.
Individual contributors have never been more powerful. Think bigger.

Obama tonight on his Cheesecake Factory line: "They mobilized a whole of government response to that joke. Not to inflation, but to that joke. The White House even called the Secretary of the Treasury. This is the man who is in charge of the economy. The person who's supposed to be figuring out how to make your life more affordable. The guy who's supposed to be figuring out how to lower inflation. And reduce interest rates. They told him he should hold a press conference in front of the Cheesecake Factory."

Iโll take a shot at answering one of these good questions. These poor young people are not dying for "no reason". Theyโre dying because Vladimir Putin's Russia invaded Ukraine and Ukrainians donโt want to be murdered. I hope this helps.

Having been at Microsoft and worked with @merill I can attest this is 100% true. Microsoft and its customers would benefit greatly if it became more lean and more engineering focused. Also, sadly, a lot of good people will cut.
Shameless plug, I'm hiring. DM me if interested.
Folks,
I left Microsoft three months ago to start my own company. Two weeks after I left, my whole team in Australia was let go.
I see the hurt itโs causing my ex-colleagues, their families and their kids. Layoffs, forced relocations, PIPs. Itโs brutal and I donโt want to brush past that.
But hereโs my honest take.
Microsoft needs fewer people.
Iโve been on the inside. Iโve seen how things get built. Lots of small orgs. Layers on layers. Silos everywhere.
Hereโs a real example.
The Entra team shipped managed identities back in 2017. No more secrets in code. A clear security win.
Then they tried to get the rest of Microsoft to adopt it. Very few teams did, and the ones that did moved at a snailโs pace. Every org had its own priorities and its own decision makers.
It took Microsoft getting hacked, and the Secure Future Initiative that followed, before things really moved.
Today almost every Microsoft app and service supports managed identity.
Six years, and a major breach, to get there.
In a world with agents and fewer people, that rollout would be possible across Microsoft in months, not years.
Microsoft already has everything else. The customers. The infrastructure. The scale.
What it needs is fewer people, leaning hard into agentic work.
Right now OpenAI and Anthropic are shipping at a pace Microsoft canโt match.
Microsoft has to change to survive.

๐จ BREAKING NEWS: Gmail Users Need to Read This!
If you have a Gmail account, you need to read this.
Googleโs AI is now rifling through your inbox emails and attachments, bank statements, tax docs, medical letters, the whole stack. It was enabled by default, and that quiet rollout is now facing a class-action lawsuit.
Here are 5 steps to turn it off because the kill switch is buried in two different spots:

This is the canary in the coal mine, y'all. The AI math doesn't math. Microsoft is offering buyouts for nearly a quarter of it's workforce.
AI adoption for businesses is a 24-month journey in a perfect scenario. They aren't seeing adoption fast enough to offset their CapEx spending... and they aren't alone. Add Anthropic's measly revenue numbers (compared to their CapEx), and hopefully you get the point.
These aren't buyouts because Microsoft found efficiencies with AI, they are buyouts because they (the AI industry) spend trillions (collectively) building the best tools the world has ever seen, and no one knows how to use them. digitalmeld.io/blog/who-is-pโฆ
BREAKING: Microsoft, $MSFT, is offering buyouts to 60,000 workers as part of the companyโs efforts to cut costs amid AI adoption, per Bloomberg.
Personnel on select teams in the US, Canada, India, and the UK at a vice president level and below will be eligible.
This reflects ~27% of Microsoft's total workforce.
