Today we're releasing DeepFinance, the first ultra-long horizon benchmark for high finance work.
A set of 21 problems that reflect work at top PE and IB firms, DeepFinance is built using real deal data.
Problems are constructed by experts with backgrounds from top firms like Evercore, JPM and UBS, and institutions like HBS and Wharton. Problems represent work that would take human professionals 20-40 hours to complete.
Can AI really diligence a $100M+ deal? Finance benchmarks today are limited to evaluating agents on QA on financial docs or grading the numerical correctness of simple financial models. However, real world high finance work is full of assumptions and conflicting evidence. We built DeepFinance to realistically evaluate agents on those end-to-end finance workflows.

Alright, let’s get another sneaker twitter meetup going in sf. Depending on interest, i’ll get nice venue etc. if interested in cohosting, please dm me. let’s make this fun :)
agents trying to book things with finite supply is going to be hilariously chaotic.
we’re about to introduce software level race conditions into real life. two thousand agents refreshing the same dinner reservation, concert ticket, apartment, flight upgrade, etc.
distributed systems problems except now the lock is a table for two at 8pm in the west village.

The greatest gifts my mom and dad have given me:
1. The gift of life
2. The gift of being raised in America
3. The gift of experiencing what is possible when you build a business that serves patients and helps communities
4. Fuzzy socks
@thesamparr @ShaanVP thank you for the shoutout.

You could pay for fake AI talking head UGC, or you could just do a good enough job that they talk about you for free.
We could just be doing it wrong? 🤷 idk

Apparently an unpopular opinion, but I don't think Anthropic owes anyone heavily subsidized tokens for their third party app.
I can't help but feel personally burned by the Claude Code changes announced today.
We put so much work into wrapping the (atrocious) Claude Agent SDK in T3 Code. It was the ONLY path they supported, so we made it work. It was hell.
Now our users are getting their rate limits cut by 40x, despite us doing everything right.
I listened to the Claude Code team. I had my issues with their direction, but I trusted them and took them at their word.
I will never make that mistake again.
Until we see significant change, it is safe to assume any statement from an Anthropic employee is a lie on a timer.
The rug will be pulled, no matter how many promises are made beforehand.

simple engineering is better engineering. everyone is over complicating everything.

Tabular data is a really exciting and rich domain to explore reasoning for LLMs 🧠
Check out our latest work on understanding the critical gaps that emerge when reasoning over messy, real-world data: arxiv.org/abs/2506.08249
and big kudos to Ken for the beautiful figures 👏

Relationships are complicated! Check out my recent work @GoogleAI on using ML to automatically identify complex relationships between datasets on the Web. I'll also be presenting the paper (arxiv.org/abs/2408.14636) at @iswc_conf next week.
With millions of datasets available on the Web, understanding the relationships between them is critical for research & decision making. Learn how we developed a series of methods to automatically identify such relationships and compare their performance →goo.gle/40CM7h7

ALT This diagram illustrates the evolution and relationships of Dataset A through its versions, subsets, replicas, and derived datasets. Starting with Dataset A (V1), it highlights subsequent versions (V2, V3) and subsets (V2.1, Y), as well as connections to related external datasets (X, Y, Z), which may be integrated or modified. It also shows how datasets are linked to external artifacts, such as scientific articles.

I’m increasingly convinced that AI value is going to accrue to companies that deliver services in healthcare. 3 specific places:
1) micro private equity that acquires companies and then injects AI into their operations. Traditional success in acquiring healthcare businesses has been around negotiating better rates, controlling referrals, etc. But with AI maybe you can reduce the operating expense, improve margins, and just hold the business while it generates cash. This would probably work particularly well in areas where you need several full time staff to do administrative work like clinical trial sites, durable medical equipment suppliers, legacy third-party administrators, etc. Less so in places that have strict staffing ratio requirements.
2) outsourced departments that’re powered by AI. For example, hospitals are now trying to completely outsource their billing departments. A company can come in and be willing to take over all the headcount/back-office services themselves and do it for much less thanks to AI. For example, instead of 10 medical billers the hospital hires as full time employees, a company uses 1 medical biller + AI and charges 50% of the cost.
3) unbundling a package of services and completely automating part of it. A made up example, legal firms where you can choose between a lawyer reading a contract for $X or an AI they trained reading a contract for 20% of the cost. Or InPharmD, which is essentially a clinical pharmacist + AI which they use to create different products (ask a complex question about drugs, or for a hospital committee to generate reports on what drugs they should keep on hand).

It’s insane the number of inventions that had to occur for AI to be possible. Invention of the internet, indexing of it via google / reddit / Wikipedia, organization of programming knowledge via GitHub and stack overflow, invention of GPUs for gaming, then some of the smartest people in the world working intensively on it for years. Markets are beautiful. Imagine trying to plan this from scratch

Every design team seems to succumb to low information density and high whitespace aesthetics even if the tool is mostly used by pros.
Glad we went the other way with the recent work on Polaris. Bring back tight and tactile UX!
