At the software store I worked at, I had to sweep the floor. Wash the windows. Open the store, then do all the sales. The owner and his partner NEVER were out there hustling. Never trying to talk to customers. Never even trying to see if he could help me w sales. Only thing I remember him telling me is that I needed to buy nicer suits, instead of the 2 polyester suits I had and the used dress shirts and ties I bought. 9 months in I got fired. Not long after, the store closed. Taught me a HUGE lesson If a ceo/manager doesn’t believe in their products enough to live to sell them, they are toast. No chance they survive. It holds true to this day.

It’s an example. A metaphor. Sometimes you take a job, not because you like it , or it pays enough. You take the fucking shitty job because it pays more than not having a job. You learn everything you can while working that job, in hope of maybe being promoted or preparing for your next job. Or you sit on your ass. Collect unemployment as long as you can and do whatever. We all make choices. Some people are willing to grind. Some are not. Just the way it is.
McDonald’s was never intended to be an adult full time job. It’s for high school and younger people and is considered a supplemental income type job, not a career. Get a brain.

A plane crashes in Florida, lives are lost, and within HOURS the blue-checkmark crowd is blaming a female pilot and screaming “DEI.” Here's the problem: They don't understand how a two-pilot cockpit works. As a pilot, I'm disgusted. Watch this before you embarrass yourself.

BREAKING: The ADHD presentation they were screening for in the 90s was a hyperactive boy knocking things off desks. Not a quiet girl at the front of the class doing her homework perfectly and crying in the bathroom at lunch. They were not looking for you. That is not the same as you not being there.

To the “everyone is Autistic or ADHD now” crowd: When the whole world stopped in 2020, and everyone was mandated to stay in their homes, every burnt out, high-masking autistic person got to finally drop the lifelong masks and just be themselves for months. And when social distancing policies started dropping and we got back to “normal,” it was impossible for those people to simply pick those lifelong masks back up as we dropped them, shattered them. Just sit with that.

To my MAGA friends: Enjoy this weekend. Seriously. After Tuesday, your movement is finished. That feeling of powerlessness you remember? It’s coming back. And you’ll spend years looking back at this moment, furious that you had power—and flushed it down Trump’s golden toilet. Never to return

The story of women in policing is still being written every day. This Women’s History Month, hear from OPP members as they share what their careers mean to them, the experiences that have shaped their journeys and the impact they hope to leave for those who follow in their footsteps. Their stories remind us that progress is driven by those who are willing to lead, challenge expectations and help create opportunities for future generations.

They say you should never meet your heroes, but as one of millions who grew up admiring Patrick Stewart, it was a joy to get to know him and discover that his kindness and decency were just as great as his enormous, generational talent. There will not be another like him, and with the sad news of his passing, our thoughts are with his wife Sunny, his family, and his many friends. Our culture is so much richer because of Sir Patrick Stewart’s life and work.

In the early 90s, I begged my then-agent to arrange a pitch meeting with the writers of TNG in their third season. I was a young Canadian nobody, but desperately wanted to write for Patrick Stewart's Jean Luc Picard. I developed three stories and pitched my heart out, but I couldn't close the deal. I have few regrets in this business, but not having the chance to write for such a wonderful actor and character, whose voice I can hear so clearly in my mind even now, is one of them. Rest in peace, sir.
