I work in Boston's Seaport district and it's evident it was built as a kind of holding pen for millennials. It's designed to siphon salary into 'luxury' apartment rents, after work pickle ball games and F1 arcade bar visits. City planning maximizes wind tunnels and through traffic. Overall aesthetic is 'permanent construction site', beer sold from cargo containers. It's clear they want you to work and to leave; if families were ever considered, the main concern seems to have been ensuring that they won't come into being
