Second tactic: unleash a tsunami of misleading ads.
The billionaires have already spent $230 million. Sergey Brin alone has spent $138 million. @patrickc : $20 million. @ericschmidt : $15 million. It is one of the most expensive campaigns in U.S. history.
The billionaires have reserved nearly $100 million worth of advertising, compared with roughly $100,000 for supporters of the tax.
And they are nowhere near finished. Voting begins today—80% of Californians vote by mail—and runs through November 3, Election Day for the midterms.
The advertising tsunami will only intensify between now and then.

So this explains the bizarre attack on Zelenskyy by the South Korean president
He probably knew this was coming out and wanted to get ahead of this investigation showing that SK is assisting the Russian terrorist genocidal regime
⚡️South Korea shipped fuel to Russia via sanctioned vessels.
Over 176,000 tonnes of fuel from South Korean ports were loaded onto sanctioned Russian tankers, based on analysis of port records and ship-tracking data by The Guardian.

An interesting new paper by the Institut Jacques Delors argues that China's export surge is the result of a systemic domestic model that suppresses consumption and channels saving into subsidized investment and manufacturing capacity. Because the WTO cannot address such a systemic distortion, the paper proposes a sector-wide instrument for Europe that limits imbalances while preserving a rules-based trading system.

This article indirectly describes one of the more important consequences of our current, distorted form of globalization, even if it isn't commented upon enough. Automation will help Japanese and Korean shipbuilders compete with Chinese shipbuilders only if wages don't rise in line with productivity.
In a system in which nations "win" at manufacturing mainly by suppressing unit labor costs, every country that wants a large manufacturing sector is under pressure either to suppress household income (including by reducing transfers) or to raise productivity without allowing a commensurate rise in wages.
This is the kind of world Keynes warned about, in which countries try to expand production while suppressing demand.
But while a few individual countries can get away with beggar-thy-neighbor growth policies, the world itself cannot do so. If too many countries try to suppress wages, or expand productivity while suppressing the accompanying wage growth, the only way to keep demand and supply balanced globally is with surging debt.
It is of course a good thing if businesses and governments around the world invest to expand productivity growth, but it is not a good thing if workers' wages don't rise in line with the growth in productivity. There's no point in making more stuff if people can't afford to buy it.
This is why Joan Robinson warned that the inevitable result of beggar-thy-neighbor policies, once deficit countries are no longer able politically to bear the costs, is a breakdown in trade. Rising debt and suppressed wages can only go on for so long.

🚨I checked every single name on Israel's list of 170 Gazan "terrorist" journalists. It's the most sloppy shameless fraud possible🧵
In the overwhelming majority of those listed, the IDF presents ZERO credible evidence. In most of them, their pages are literally blank.

Simon Andriesz, the British banker who uncovered 2018 emails linking Howard Lutnick to Jeffrey Epstein’s Adfin investment and took them to House Oversight, has died at age 57. BBC reported his findings. Lutnick later admitted to visiting the island but not the business dealings.
Simon Andriesz @SAndriesz has died. He took his own life this week, while staying at a trauma treatment centre, the same place he had gone to try to survive what years of fighting had done to him.
I wrote the piece below about him at the start of August. We last spoke on 13 August. Reading my own words back now feels different. Heavier. I did not know then that this would be the last chapter.
Simon gave me his story directly. The embezzlement he uncovered, the fraud he reported, the heart attacks, the police complaints, the years @TheFCA spent doing almost nothing while his life fell apart around him.
He handed the CFTC and HMRC enough to secure real fines. He handed the BBC enough for a full documentary.
And still the one regulator that was supposed to protect him let him carry all of it alone for 7 years.
He was one of the most credible people I have ever spoken to. Everything he told me checked out. And he still ended up broken by the very system meant to catch people like him when they fell.
I am angry writing this. Angry that a man this capable, this thorough, this willing to hand over evidence and testimony for years, was left to fight completely alone until he could not fight anymore.
Simon Andriesz deserved better. Rest in peace.

I am the British whistleblower who reported evidence concerning Howard Lutnick, his links to Jeffrey Epstein, and Cantor Fitzgerald and BGC to the FBI in 2020–21.
Listen to the BBC File on 4 documentary about my whistleblower story:
bbc.com/audio/play/m002yx47
BBC News:
bbc.com/news/articles/c9q28d…
I later shared evidence with the House Oversight Committee, which subsequently questioned Lutnick behind closed doors.
My disclosures also contributed to regulatory action in the US and UK, including a £96m HMRC tax assessment relating to BGC’s partnership scheme. I believe the true tax exposure is substantially higher.
I also reported to the FBI and financial regulators matters involving Cantor Fitzgerald’s Relief Fund and BGC/Cantor’s annual 9/11 Charity Day.
The personal consequences of whistleblowing, and the retaliation I say followed, have been devastating for my family and me.
Mother Jones previously reported that documents I uncovered revealed a years-long business tie between Howard Lutnick, Cantor Fitzgerald and Jeffrey Epstein through AdFin, including a 2018 exchange in which Lutnick and Epstein discussed the company directly:

Follow me here on X and on LinkedIn. I intend to share more of the evidence and the story behind what happened.

Was der relativierende Demagoge Ganser wieder mal verschweigt.

He’ll never go to prison because his father-in-law will see to that, but foreign regimes facilitating his corruption and the steady degradation of our politics and national security should be told now that when this administration ends, a bill will come due.
For the last 10 years, I have ignored false and misleading stories about me and focused on the work.
But the cycle has gotten out of control where old lies get repeated as fact, new ones get added, and the record becomes increasingly distorted.
So from time to time, I’m going to respond, not to every allegation. But when the truth matters, I’ll put the facts and supporting information out publicly, and people can judge for themselves.

The most immoral army.
The army of the deranged ones. Committing the monstrosity of the century.
Every day, new brushes of horror.
updated my portfolio site, this one was UI dev practice after a client RFP for a working cinematic FUI. I was curious how @threejs could handle a complex system w loads of fine details moving in concert to form the interface, all rearranging+configuring on scroll.
built it as I would a realtime app.. invisible dom reports scroll to the loop which updates the camera/text/transitions. a custom GPU renderer instances quads combined with add, subtract and invert blend modes into one render texture per frame. details render to a b+w mask onto a tilted quad, and a final shader maps that mask onto the palette gradients and adds a little film grain, DOF and subtle chromatic aberration. overall a fun exploration! lnk in bio

„Ja.“
Sechs Tage später:
neue Nummer.
So weit, so menschlich.
