"I paid a lot of attention to skin color. Also to using multiple languages. Lots of times when you watch anime, the characters all have white skin — all the characters in fantasy stories all have white skin, which I never liked," Watanabe said in Cowboy Bebop: The Jazz Messengers

“It was Watanabe who wanted to have several groups of ethnic diversity appear in the series.  Cowboy Bebop won awards specifically for its culturally diverse cast” (which was unusual for anime at the time)

this is so real,, because the way y'all infantilize disabled adults - especially adults with developmental disabilities like Down Syndrome - is weird as hell and needs to stop.
this hits so hard! ❤️‍🔥

They do this every. single. year. For those new to the struggle, please know that this is not unique to the current aggression, but instead a longstanding genocidal tradition.

At risk of sounding like an old person, why in the fresh fuck is this news and why bother covering it XXL? This is a woman who didn’t consent to this bullshit and here you, a “reputable magazine,” go sharing screenshots of childish garbage like you ain’t seen a titty before

These guys understand that they’re supporting an immoral war and are condemning Aaron Bushnell’s self-immolation because it rightly makes them feel morally compromised.

Welp. Look who’s being chopped from my 2024 itinerary. I’ll see the Door of No Return elsewhere, or never.

Tommy Tuberville apparently thinks people are afraid to go out for ice cream in New York City, even though the homicide rate there is one third of the rate in his home state of Alabama.
Hope @JoeBiden enjoyed going out for ice cream in NYC while the rest of the city is afraid of crime and migrants.

cops saw a guy light himself on fire and their first impulse was to shoot him
Replying to @taliaotg
For a full minute, police (unknown sector, maybe fed or DC) see him, say “May I help you sir?” and as he’s on fire scream at him to get on the ground but do not otherwise engage. One cop appears with a gun drawn on the man after he collapses, still consumed by flames.

This is insane. Anat Schwartz isn't the focus of this scandal, The New York Times is. The issue isn't decorum, it's that NYT enlisted an Israeli intelligence veteran who supports the genocide of Palestinians and had no journalistic experience to help write atrocity propaganda.
BREAKING: The New York Times is desperately attempting to do damage control after one of their lead writers of the widely debunked "mass rape" atrocity propaganda hoax, Anat Schwartz, was shown to be a genocidal racist maniac. They're trying to pretend it's just a decorum issue

This “freelancer” played a lead role in the paper’s most consequential coverage of the war, and had no journalism experience. The better question is who assigned her these stories, why, and what were they thinking.
NEW: The New York Times is investigating an Israeli freelancer after she repeatedly liked multiple X posts that indicated a pro-Israel bias, including one that called for the Gaza Strip to be turned into a “slaughterhouse.” thedailybeast.com/new-york-t…

UPDATE: I got footage of the self-immolation at the Israeli embassy in DC. The individual, wearing fatigues, introduces himself as “an active duty member of the U.S. Air Force and I will no longer be complicit in genocide.” After ignition, he repeatedly yells “Free Palestine.”
Someone self-immolated (or tried to) outside the Israeli embassy in DC today.
