Israel allows 2 million Palestinians with Israeli citizenship (who did not become refugees in 1948) to vote and run for office while it denies that right to 6+ million it has kept under a brutal illegal occupation for nearly 60 years.
That is not democracy. It is Apartheid.
Israelโs Arab citizens, men and women, are turning out in historic numbers to vote. They can vote, run for office, and serve in the Knesset, rights denied to many Arabs and women across much of the Middle East.
Our critical ally in the fight against terror, Israel, is the only democracy in the region, and today shows it.

There are good reasons why European descended Americans and Australians should not be expelled from what are now called the USA and Australia, and the same good reasons apply to Israelis descended from European Jews in what is now called Israel. In all these cases, however, the

The past cannot be changed, but we can demand justice for the living today.

The principle that people should not be expelled from their homeland should be applied universally. Obviously.

Anyone who was expelled from any of those Arab states, or their descendants, who wishes to return should certainly be allowed to do so.
Replying to @GrumpyNCynical @colwight
Well, Native Americans and Aborigines today should certainly be allowed to live in the USA and Australia, with the same rights as other citizens of those countries.

The thing about the Israeli election is this: it doesn't much matter who wins. The genocide will continue. The slaughter of Palestinian children will continue. The ethnic cleansing of the occupied West Bank will continue. And the settler-colonial system will remain in place.

Believe me that I don't exaggerate when I say this: I am thankful to be alive and hear these words said where Western audiences can hear them. This monologue is as revolutionary and meaningful as Rosa Park' refusal to move to the black people section of a bus, 71 years ago in Montgomery, Alabama.
Lubna Speitan seals her place in the chronicles of the struggle of the Palestinian people for freedom and dignity - now followed and supported by billions of people around the world.
I waited so long, so eagerly, to hear these transformative words; all of humanity did. EVery schoolboy and schoolgirl in the world need to know this
Watch this.
Lubna Speitan, author of the Greens4Palestine motion โZionism is racismโ, spells out the central obscenity of our age โ the grotesque inversion whereby the victims of ethnic cleansing, Apartheid and genocide must constantly fend off accusations from their tormentors that it is they who are the racists.
โWe as Palestinians are being silenced and gaslit and vilified [as we] witness the annihilation, the cold-blooded murder of our families, of our peopleโฆ our children burnt with phosphorus, having to endure amputations with no anaesthetic, having their limbs torn and shredded, their bodies burnt by phosphorus, being starved to death โฆ And to have to sit here โฆ and try to bury my feelings so I can eloquently and diplomatically shield my anger, my rage, my anguish that every Palestinian is feeling, is an insult.โ /1
