Literally the fruits of hardwork ft. Krop AI Strawberries. ♥️ A @Rainmatterin startup based out of Brahmavara, Udupi. 🇮🇳 They build low cost container farms designed to grow over 35+ varieties of vegetables, herbs and edible flowers.
Everyone keeps saying building hardware is tough, but sometimes it takes being involved in the process to understand what tough really means. Since the last update on Krop AI last year, the team has made tons of progress, but not without times when they almost wondered why they were doing what they were doing. I asked them if they had to articulate what really were the issues, now would they, and they sent me some notes. Here they are, if they help others in the ecosystem. - There is no hardtech ecosystem in India. Building hardware in India means building the supply chain alongside the product. We couldn't find an Indian vendor for the HVAC components we needed. We had to import high-end sensors. Mechanical assemblies, the kind that a US or China-based startup would order off a catalogue, we had to design in-house from scratch. Every problem took 3x longer to solve than it should have, simply because the ecosystem doesn't exist yet. - Sensors went silent. Our PCBs failed. We lost sensor communications across the farm and didn't know what was happening inside our own container. Downtime hit 30%. Plants suffered. The fix wasn't better sensors; it was better hardware design underneath them. We've since rebuilt our PCBs from the ground up. - Lighting was one of our largest capex line items, and the unit economics didn't work at that price. So we started designing our own lighting in-house. Capex came down 25%. The monthly energy bill came down 30%. Plants don't need constant light; they need the right light at the right time. That single rebuild opened up the entire business model. - LEDs throw heat, plants transpire moisture, and a 40ft container needs a perfect climate 24/7. Our first HVAC build cost INR 24L. We had failures, rebuilt the thermal architecture from scratch, and brought capex down to INR 5L. - We picked the wrong pumps. They failed, and the farm flooded. Inside a sealed container with sensitive electronics and live plants, that's about as bad as it gets. Industrial reliability was tough to figure out. But we have re-specified every pump in the system. All of us @Rainmatterin are super proud of the team. Not because they had revenue numbers to show, or had a large valuation bump, but just because of how they dealt with each of the hurdle. They are focused on figuring answers to problems. They are doing it thoughtfully. That's what it takes to build stuff. Good things await. ❤️

India just flew a solar-powered aircraft to the edge of space — and kept it there. A HAPS (High-Altitude Platform) demonstrator flew at ~12 km over Pokhran. The goal: pseudo-satellites that stay aloft for 30–45 DAYS on sunlight alone, watching borders & relaying signals — at a fraction of a satellite's cost. A spy satellite you can't shoot down easily, launch cheaply, and land to reuse. That's the idea. The future of surveillance may not orbit. It may just… hover. #MakeInIndia

We’ve integrated @morluto’s Reverse-Engineer-Anything skill inside Computer. And, we’re giving up to 10000 credits as a bootstrapping credit balance for any one to use them to reverse engineer any app of their choice! Have fun!
REA (Reverse Engineer Anything) by @morluto is now a skill in Computer. Ask Computer to reverse-engineer an app and it inspects how the app works without its source code, then builds a working version. Tasks that use /reverse-engineer are free through October 31, up to 10,000 credits per user. Here are 5 apps Computer made with it, available to try for a limited time: 1) Figma: Design with layers and auto-layout, plus sign-in, cross-device sync, and multiplayer editing. Try it: ui-editing.pplx.app

Elon Musk spent $290 million to elect Trump. It paid off. Since his election, Musk got $696 billion richer & became the world’s 1st trillionaire. But that’s not enough. Now, Musk is spending $366 million to keep Republicans in control of Congress. STOP MUSK. STOP OLIGARCHY.

Extremely poor from President Musk, who ensured BYD didn’t enter the US for fear of his Tesla sales crumbling . And here making an issue out of our right for national security. A great entrepreneur but a v bitter man. Earlier went after Trump claiming his name is in Epstein files only to calm down later to ensure his business doesn’t suffer. Lol Musk.
Dear Prime Minister Ambani, Please accept my humble apologies for not realizing that you are the real boss of India. Naturally, you would prefer to maintain your monopolistic exploitation of the great people of India, but would you nonetheless consider allowing Starlink to compete? There are many areas of India, as there are in all countries, with no Internet access, which denies children the opportunity for education and for small businesses the opportunity to sell their goods to a global market. Starlink would change their lives for the better. Thank you 🙏

𝗠𝗮𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗰𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲𝗿 𝗺𝗲𝗱𝗶𝗰𝗶𝗻𝗲𝘀 𝗺𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝗮𝗳𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗱𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗲. 𝗥𝗲𝗱𝘂𝗰𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗯𝘂𝗿𝗱𝗲𝗻 𝗼𝗻 𝗽𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀. In a major patient-centric intervention, the Government has decided to cap trade margins at 30% of MRP for all non-scheduled anti-cancer drugs, covering branded and generic, domestic and imported, patented and non-patented medicines. The move addresses excessive trade mark-ups and aims to improve affordability while ensuring continued availability of these life-saving medicines. 📉 Expected impact: * Up to 70% reduction in MRP * Estimated annual savings of ₹2,500 crore * Reduced out-of-pocket expenditure for cancer patients Building on the 2019 intervention, which delivered reported annual savings of ₹984 crore across 526 brands, this measure reinforces the commitment to affordable, accessible and patient-centric healthcare : Official Sources

A co-pilot stabs the pilot and tries to crash a plane with 150 passengers on board - and the @nytimes and @CNN call it an “altercation”?! It’s very dangerous when media platforms bend over backwards to avoid the word “terrorism.” They even withhold facts as if to shield their audience from facts. The facts include that an Omani co-pilot tried to murder an Indian pilot of a Dubai-based airline on a flight to Israel and then sought to crash the plane. The Indian pilot was heroic and managed to open the cockpit and be aided by other heroes - Israeli passengers who managed to regain control over the plane and land it safely - in Saudi Arabia. And Saudis provided humane care to the crew and the passengers, even though Saudi Arabia and Israel don’t have diplomatic relations! I’ve seen the effects of hiding facts. In Germany, for example, both politicians and the media studiously avoid reporting on terrorist incidents by Islamist fundamentalists. As a result, citizens have lost trust in them. This has created a huge void now being filled by extremist parties that are far more radical. Many Muslim leaders like Dr. @MissDiagnosis courageously condemn Islamist fundamentalists but most mainstream media won’t give them a voice. These media screeners think they might be helping but instead they hurt all of humanity, including the Muslim community that doesn’t want to be associated with fundamentalists. It’s high time that this change, and that we allow Builders to speak against all Destroyers and stand for humanity.

DuckTales premiered 39 years ago today. I loved that show. Not for the gold. For the idea that adventure meant going somewhere wild with people you love. It was Indiana Jones for kids. Nobody's making the movie, so I made the trailer. Sound on. 🦆

🚨 Sources say that Pakistani naval ship rammed an Indian Navy warship in international waters after closing at high speed in an unsafe, unprofessional manoeuvre. No major damage. That is not luck. That is the difference between a professional navy and a provocation. Article 10 of the 1991 agreement is not optional: stay three nautical miles apart. You do not crowd the gray giants. You do not test the men in blue. The Arabian Sea is not a playground for cheap brinkmanship. Stay in your lane, or learn why Indian warships do not flinch. Pakis have this old habit. See this video from a previous such incident, wherein PNS Babur did the same trick with another IN Ship.
