That’s a great indicator but I think real personal ex government transfer payments tells a better story of the “forgot how to grow economy”.
Here's the crisis in a nutshell:
labor share of income has crashed while business share has surged amidst record profits and margins.
All a function of government spending and regulation benefitting big businesses (mostly thru raising prices) and the wealthy people that own them.
Americans are beyond frustrated that they are falling further and further behind while the elites rocket ahead.
Real personal income
Excluding government transfer payments is basically flat YOU
This is the real economy private earnings for your average person.
Despite what the Fed blowhards say the economy outside of the AI capex bubble isn’t good.

Triple hooks are totally blowing out , not at record levels, but they’re going absolutely vertical.
Real personal income from the private sector is basically flatlined.
This isn’t the foundation of a strong economy.
Has only slowed down more this year.
