*GREAT, all-timer episode
Spot changed appearance in the series and then in season 7 they changed him from a male to a female cat so she could give birth in “Genesis”, that bad episode where the crew de-evolves.
Producer Jeri Taylor reportedly suggested that the original Spot had died and Data simply acquired another cat and gave it the same name.
The actual production reason was that the writers wanted Spot to give birth in "Genesis," so the character was changed to female without any explanation.
I'll go a step further and say that once Worf shows up, save for Rejoined, Dax was given almost nothing to do that didn't revolve around Worf in some way. Especially once they get together, she stops being her own person with agency and not a single plot centers her.
"Skip Code of Honor", "Skip Shades of Gray" -- OR, just be an adult! Watch even the bad episodes! Either you like the show or you don't. Would you skip telling your loved ones how much you care for them if you thought it would save you a minute of your time?

Patrick Stewart's entire body of work, but as Picard in particular, is something that connects the person I am today with who I was as a kid. It collapses time for me. I still have the same awe and fascination with his performance and belief that it represents the best of us.
Listening to Night Ripper on a whim. Hearing Girl Talk in 2026 feels like the equivalent of drinking jet fuel, or shoving a butter knife in a socket

RIP Walter Koenig. Forever iconic because of his portrayal of Chekov on Star Trek, but I want to show some love to his very underrated turn as the arch-villain, psychic cop "Alfred Bester" on Babylon 5.
#RIP Walter Koenig. As Chekov on ‘Star Trek,’ he got lots of mail “from 8- to 14-year-olds. They said, ‘I think you’re groovy, I love your hair’ — which was a wig, by the way. I got hundreds and hundreds of letters, the third most after Bill and Leonard.” hollywoodreporter.com/tv/tv-…
ALL OF A SUDDEN -- the most compassionate and gentle picture I've seen in ages. Hamaguchi's films can be so hypnotic in the way they draw you in with just static shots and dialogue. Fully one of my guys.
A Denver brewery blocked me on IG for saying their AI flyer looked like dogshit, so I'll say it louder: the flyer sucks ass and if we're being honest, Black Sky Brewery has been sympathetic to NSBM for a long time. Their beer also sucks fucking ass.
Lived here for nearly 8 years and at this point every single day is me asking myself why I'm still around

I've always loved these dreamy images of Eva Marie Saint in Frankenheimer's Grand Prix. a scene where her character Louise is falling in love with racing while she's falling for Yves Montand's driver Sarti. it's Louise's race - no other race in the film is shot quite like this.
