Every morning, our students gather for the school assembly, where our student presenters take the microphone and bring the morning radio program to life! Today’s broadcast featured beautiful Quran recitations, meaningful lessons about honoring and respecting parents, wisdom from Palestinian proverbs, and fun riddles that encouraged students to think, participate, and share their knowledge. With careful planning, organization, and teamwork, our students prepare and present engaging segments that make the morning assembly a valuable learning experience. These activities help them build confidence, develop their speaking skills, and learn from one another. Behind every lesson, however, are stories that go far beyond the classroom. 💔 Ms. Ikhlas recalls an emotional moment when a child burst into tears because he longed to see his father, who was martyred during the war, and return to his home. His tears reflected the profound pain carried by so many children in Gaza, reminding us that every child comes to the classroom with feelings, fears, and dreams that deserve to be understood. This amazing mural, titled "The Gaza We Want," features artwork created by children in Gaza. “Life has been so difficult, no child should ever have to live through this,” shared 14-year-old Mayar. “The Gaza I want is a beautiful place with hospitals, schools and safe buildings. I was injured in the war and it affected me a lot. Whenever I hear an airstrike, I get scared. But during the Gaza We Want activity, I felt so much better in my head.” “I want Gaza back, better. Not white and black: I want it full of colours. I want it full of flowers. I want it free – strong – as it should be. Don’t ask me how, just hear my dream.” - Huda, 16 When thousands of children across age groups and geographies invoke similar images – of modern schools, hospitals, parks and dignified neighborhoods – this is no coincidence. It’s an appeal for the world to listen and act. Children also told the project what they’d like prioritized in reconstruction efforts. First: safety, shelter, learning spaces and mental health support. Then: permanent homes, schools, health clinics and parks. And later: universities, cultural centres and places of remembrance. No child will emerge from the horrors of this genocide without the imprint of trauma. But Gaza’s future leaders are asking to leave their own mark.

For those who care: Gaza’s markets are still stocked with calorie-dense foods of little nutritional value, such as soft drinks, chocolates, sweets, and crisps. While these items remain visible on market stalls, they do nothing to address the population's core dietary needs. The acute shortage centers entirely on basic staples: wheat flour and bread. Because shipments of wheat flour have been blocked from entering the strip for several days, bakeries are now on the verge of shutting down completely.

Today at @gazagreatminds , we gathered the students for cinema day and watched Tangled. Hearing their laughter, seeing their wide eyes glued to the screen, and feeling the room fill with pure, unbothered joy made my heart so full. Sometimes, the simplest moments, sitting together, sharing stories, and laughing until your cheeks hurt,are the ones that matter most. An unforgettable, truly wonderful day with these bright souls.
