I hear from some of my North Indian friends regarding how Urdu is inherently suited for poetry and romance, and that is why Bollywood uses Urdu, and people love its songs. I don't know what nonsense they are speaking - you can write excellent romance poetry in any register of any language if you are good enough. My Hindi speaking followers here - how popular is this weird notion that Urdu is inherently suited for romantic poetry, and Hindi is not because Sanskrit words are "patriarchal" and "conservative"?
Mustafa Kemal Pasha not just reformed the Turkish script by moving away from Arabic script to having an accurate Roman transliteration of its sounds but also removed Persian and Arabic loanwords and replaced it by native Turkish equivalents.
The Pahlavi Shahs did the same lexical reform with the Persian language. The Shah era media Persian can clearly be seen to contain a significant reduction in Arabic loanwords compared to the later IR Persian and the preceding Medieval Persian. Such efforts were taken sporadically even by the ostensibly Islamic Safavid Persian Empire.
Ironically, we are doing the exact opposite, and we are glorifying Arabizing our language's lexicon more than completely Islamized Iran and Turkey.
