On 2nd November 6.37am, I left my house on a journey. With almost 0 training and preparation, I wanted to walk 159km to reach A Famosa fortress in Melaka.
In this thread, I will be posting the videos and photos that I took along the way.
Enjoy, and be inspired.
Arthur is right with an important caveat: a majority of women are this way, in the same way a majority of men aren't leaders, but cowardly followers. What he is describing is the basal animal nature.
But I have seen women rise above, just like men, even if momentarily.
Funny enough, growing up in a single mother home is exactly why I don't have sympathy for single mothers.
"As someone with an actual Bronze Age mindset" 🤣

Y'all are so busy keeping score of YOUR sacrifices that you never stopped to ask how many dreams your husbands had to bury just to keep the family standing.
You think a husband driving a truck for 14 hours straight was living his dream?
You think a husband driving Uber and sleeping in his car dreamed of that as a boy?
You think a husband working as a security guard standing for 12 hours dreamed of holding a gate?
You think a husband who is a plumber with his hands in shit dreamed of that life?
You think a husband working in a warehouse lifting boxes until his spine gives out did that for FUN?
NO.
Men had dreams too. Bigger dreams than yours.
He wanted to be a pilot. A footballer. A businessman. A musician. He had plans.
But then life punched him in the mouth. Woman got pregnant. Rent doubled. Mother got sick. Bills piled up.
So he KILLED his dream with his own hands and went to work.
No announcement. No tears on Instagram. No TED Talk.
And when he dies at 58 from heart attack, high blood pressure, stroke from years of stress and silence
You will stand at his funeral and say "he was a good provider."
Not a dreamer.
Not a man who once wanted more.
Not a soul who sacrificed everything.
Just a provider.
That's all he will ever be to you. Shut up.
No man is expected to abandon his education, distance himself from his friends or bury his dreams just because he got married. But women are expected to sacrifice their entire identity, ambitions and freedom to become someone’s wife. Men get a partner in marriage but women are expected to give up their entire lives to become one. And society has the audacity to call it tradition

It's strange how many people think adult men are not allowed to be happy. Even right wingers who are antifeminist like Sam Hyde would Shrek-laugh so loud spittle hits this guy's face for wanting to celebrate his birthday.
He cant keep getting away with it 🤣
Men wanted to enjoy female sexuality on their terms completely, and now women want to show off their sexuality on their terms completely.
Culture has swung and changed. 🤷♂️

the divorce data pisses off conservatives and liberals equally and I love that for me
college educated people divorce less. higher income people divorce less. tell that to conservatives and suddenly they're not into "fix the economy"
married-with-kids couples do better than childless ones. tell that to progressives and suddenly they think you want women barefoot and pregnant
nobody actually wants the stats, they want the stats that confirm what they already believe

There is an American tech YouTuber called Jerry Rigs Everything. Most of his videos are about him taking apart devices, understanding how they work etc.
He has 10.2 million subscribers
In 2005 his wife had a horse riding accident as a result of which she was paralyzed waist down. She now required a wheel chair to move about
All high quality outdoor wheelchairs that he tested costed upwards of $20,000
Considering he was a tech Youtuber with some fame he could have simply called one company to get one for free.
He didn't do that
Like he does on his channel, he took apart a wheelchair, understood its components and then built one on his own
He then decided to sell them in public for $999. He called it the Paradox
Thanks to him, most of us can have access to high mobility, all terrain wheelchairs.
This is what tech Youtubers abroad do. They actually make a difference
Meanwhile Our guys haven't yet gone past, "Arre Bhai, Yeh dekho Apple ka agla amazing phone, Isme aapko milta hai 3 camera aur ek screen. See how I am drooling on this packaging and colour" with some pathetically click baity thumbnails
A lot of people purposely act illiterate because acknowledging what they read proves them wrong.
Assuming your husband will be abusive one day and having an emergency fund, while he eats instant noodles to save money is villain, not wife behavior.
kenapa nak sangka buruk dengan isteri. literally what’s wrong with having emergency fund as a housewife
also kuasa cerai dekat husband no? apa apa boleh jadi, hati manusia ni berubah ubah. in this economy, nak fully rely your survival on the heart and grace of someone for you is damn too risky. it’s too naive to think that “it wont happen to you”
and don’t forget ajal tu bila bila boleh jemput suami. if it’s not death, what happen to the wife when theres accident happen to the husband on his way to work? and he lumpuh satu badan? siapa nak tolong support?
If stories that support you is data, but stories that don't are anecdotes, you don't care about data, you care about your tribe.

Little gems like this remind you of what he once was (and what he should have been). Gotta love the scholarly detachment, the gaze at an insight somewhere in the heavens, followed by a brutal punchline that brings everything back to earth. I hope he gets it together.
