🚨 Breaking Education News 🚨
A North Carolina high school student was arrested for assaulting his teacher while classmates recorded and laughed. The teenager is now charged with three misdemeanors for assaulting a government official. Unlike typical cases, the district attorney swiftly investigated the incident after the video surfaced.
Forsyth County DA Jim O’Neil stated, “Both Sheriff Kimbrell and I spent the morning at Parkland High School talking with the teacher. This isn’t about race or politics; it's about sending a message of support to teachers. Law enforcement and the District Attorney’s Office stand with you and value the work you do.”
I love that nature teaches us that a fixed mindset is NOT where it’s at! cbc.ca/news/canada/hamilton/…

Your strategy will be implemented by educators across Ontario who you consistently undermine by spewing misinformation that leads to anti-teacher rhetoric.
You are a trained communications professional. You choose your words carefully, so the rhetoric is intentional.
Speaking of “never-ending education strikes” is misleading and you know it. Perhaps the Minister should be more respectful of those in #onted who have dedicated their lives to improving the lives of children.
We are grateful for the data-driven, evidence-based recommendations of the @OntHumanRights #RightToRead report that inspired Ontario’s action to overhaul the Language curriculum.
Our strategy is to improve reading comprehension across the board, lifting skills & confidence for our youngest learners.

"Unequivocally, we won't touch the Greenbelt. Unlike other governments, who don't listen to people, I've heard it loud and clear, people don't want me touching the Greenbelt; we won't touch the Greenbelt. We'll figure out this housing mess, this housing crisis we're facing, in a different fashion.
To all my friends, I listened to you; you don't want me touching the Greenbelt; we won't touch the Greenbelt."

Premier Ford, Minister Lecce: You cannot claim to care about Ontario’s students and student achievement while you cut funding to students and schools and when all of this is happening on your watch. Shame on you for allowing this to continue! says @ETFOpresident. #onpoli #onted

Another great question would be why we never question the politicians who give themselves raises but ALWAYS dump on the teachers who haven’t had a cost of living increase in the past decade from said politicians who give themselves said raises???

For the second year in a row, Stephen Lecce is putting our kids' school year at risk by refusing to come to the table and bargain a fair deal.
Teachers & edu. workers want to make sure students get the support they need. They are fighting for better conditions for our kids.

Ford needs to resign for the Greenbelt corruption. He’s trying to say he didn’t know. Well Doug, that’s even worse. If a leader of a party has zero idea that corruption to the tune of 8.3 billion dollars is happening right underneath their nose, it’s even more reason to resign.

Teachers draw envy and ire over their two-month ‘vacations.’ But do they really get the summer off?
Summer months off may not be the perk you think it is. For many teachers, it’s a time for courses, prepping lesson plans and learning new curriculums. trib.al/DKdpjXc

With Bill 98, @Sflecce pins the blame on school boards for outcomes caused by his underfunding. But some of Ontario's provincial schools, which his ministry is directly responsible for, can't even use parts of their own facilities because they are in urgent need of repair.

My local MPP @JoelHardenONDP just got punched in the face at a counter rally, during an anti-trans protest.
Queer and trans people are sounding the alarm on rising hate.
It’s time to come together, mobilize, and build solidarity on this issue.

Did you know that since the Ford Government began, education funding has fallen by $1200 per student compared to 2018-19 funding when adjusted for inflation?
We think kids are being shortchanged. #onted #osstf

Why would a MOE need to be a landlord? Last I investigated this MOE is not an educator, an ECE/EA, a parent, an administrator, trustee or even a previous student of a Public School. So how would he even know what our communities need if you don't consult us?! #FireLecce #onted

The Financial Accountability Office has said Ford will underspend on education by a Billion a year for 6 years!! Yet they sit on a surplus! Not only #39kIsNotEnough for essential workers but this means problems for our children.
