कोई यह काम नहीं करता है मगर मैं कर रहा हूँ। बहस हो सकती है तो हो। लेकिन इंटरव्यू का फ़ोन आपदा का रूप ले चुका है। इसके लिए अलग तैयारी और समय की ज़रूरत होती है। इंटरव्यू को ऐसे बना दिया गया है जैसे मॉल से शर्ट लेने जाना है। ऐसे किसी का इंटरव्यू नहीं होता और न करना चाहिए।
पहले रिपोर्टिंग की विधा ख़त्म कर दी गई फिर ऐंकरिंग की। डिबेट के नाम पर भ्रम फैलाया गया कि पत्रकारिता हो रही है। अब उसकी भी साख समाप्त हो गई तो इंटरव्यू के नाम पर पत्रकारिता का भ्रम रखा जा रहा है। सवाल से लेकर इंटरव्यू करने वाले पत्रकार का चयन और बहिष्कार होने लगा। पत्रकारिता को ख़त्म कर देने के बाद इंटरव्यू झाँसा हो गया है कि अभी पत्रकार हैं और पूछ रहे हैं। सूचनाओं का संग्रह समाप्त हो चुका है। बिना ख़बरों के सवाल भी वही होते हैं जो नेता एक दूसरे के लिए पैदा करते हैं। जिनकी जवाबदेही है वे इंटरव्यू के नाम पर रस्सी कूद रहे हैं और पुश अप लगा रहे हैं।
खैर बहुत बातें लिखीं जा सकती हैं। लिखने का उतना समय और मन नहीं है। यह विषय बहुत विशाल है। जो कर रहे हैं उन्हें शुभकामनाएँ। मुझे करना होगा तो ख़ुद फ़ोन करूंगा। फ़िलहाल इस सार्वजनिक सूचना समझें और मुझे राहत दें।

Justice Bagchi: Then the person was already enrolled in 2026. The only issue is that the enumeration form could not be served because the person had shifted. You classify the person as absent or shifted and exclude their name from the draft roll. You then require Form 6, containing a declaration that the person was never previously enrolled. That is the first error. Second, you require further declarations concerning the person's birth, parents and other particulars. We understand that this is a de novo inquiry. If you were treating the 2003 electoral roll as the only relevant previous roll, the exercise might be understandable because you would be disregarding subsequent enrolments. In that situation, the declaration could say that the person's name was not included in the 2003 electoral roll.
But if your starting point is the 2026 electoral roll, and someone enrolled in that roll has merely shifted residence, you must permit that person to use Form 8.

Business World magazine has a sensational scoop based on the internal minutes of a Committee of Secretaries on Disinvestment showing how rules were changed for the controversial privatisation of IDBI Bank which was sold to Canada based Fairfax Financial Holdings at Rs 52,878 crore ($5.55 billion) at Rs 81 per share.
The internal minutes state that the initial sealed bids from Fairfax and another entity came well below the confidentially set minimum reserve price of Rs 94.42. The Fairfax bids came at Rs 75. So what do the babus do? They pull off something unprecedented but do it openly and transparently. They move to another valuation method and ask Fairfax and another bidder (strangely not named because it was later rejected by Home Ministry for security reasons!) to give new bids. This time Fairfax bids Rs 81 per share , still well below the original reserve price of Rs. 94.42. Then Fairfax says this is the final offer and it would withdraw if not accepted. The government accepts it and also gives some relief on disputed tax claims on IDBI Bank. Tax payer also makes a hefty contribution here!
The deal goes through at Rs 81 per share(the original reserve price was Rs 94.42) and the internal note strangely gives reasons why this sale was necessary for the government at this juncture- Fiscal stress on Centre due to high energy prices, lack of FDI inflows and the currency under strain because of the global energy crises!
As per Business World report the justification for change of rules and methodology for the sale of IDBI Bank came from the General Financial Rules for sale of government physical assets but not shares. Then it cites the Railway Stores Code on auctioning scrap:
"Bids lower than the reserve prices may, however, be accepted by the Depot Officer where found expedient provided the Depot Officer doing so records his reasons in writing."
In my 40 years of journalism I have not come across such justification for privatisation.

Civilized societies prioritize saving human lives, maximizing their happiness, and minimizing their fears. Many dog owners spend time and money to train, vaccinate, and neuter their pets to live responsibly in their societies.
On the other hand, the so-called "dog lovers" of India only want to feed and pet the strays without being responsible for the trauma, deaths, and accidents on Indian streets they cause. They must give up the selfishness of their low-touch attachment and oxytocin hits to prevent such unfortunate incidents and let municipalities do their job of animal control.
यह हाल है चुनाव व्यवस्था का। मत पत्र पर नाम से लेकर मतों की गिनती और नतीजे की हालत सबने देखी है। बैलेट पेपर से चुनाव की मांग का मज़ाक उड़ाने के नाम पर इन बातों को बहस से ग़ायब कर दिया गया। रात भर क्यों डटना पड़ा इसलिए कि व्यवस्था का ही इशारा था कि हम पर भरोसा मत करो। केवल जनता का वोट लेना काफ़ी नहीं, नतीजे का प्रमाणपत्र देना तो हमारे हाथ में है। यह साफ़ हो गया कि मतदान मशीन से हो या बैलेट से, व्यवस्था किसी के हाथ में चली गई है। उसी एक के लिए काम कर रही है। इन पर बात नहीं होगी, अब कहा जाएगा कि बनारस कैसे जीत गए, नागपुर कैसे जीत गए, अयोध्या कैसे जीत गए? अगर व्यवस्था निष्पक्ष होती तो इस तरह के अपवादों से अपनी भ्रष्टता का बचाव नहीं करती। सब अपनी हार और जीत को स्वीकार करते। सबके सामने निर्वाचन आयोग अवैध काम करता हुआ पकड़ा गया है।
जो न डरे आज के जुल्मों के हालात से
सब डटे रहें और जीत का प्रमाणपत्र लेकर ही उठें। हम वाराणसी शहर के अपने कार्यकर्ताओं से अपील करते हैं कि वो मतगणना केंद्र पर भोजन, पानी, छतरी और तौलिये आदि की व्यवस्था करके अपने साथियों की मदद करें और हौसलों के गीत गाकर जागते रहें… सवेरा अपना होगा।

Palestinian citizens of Israel are the last force standing between Israel and the apocalypse.
Netanyahu has answered our votes by claiming that Palestinian parties “stole” the election, even though Israel’s own election authorities say they have seen NO evidence of systematic fraud.
His son Yair went further. He used the results to claim that most of Israel’s Palestinian citizens justify “terror”, and he called us “an existential problem no less than the Iranian nuclear program.”
Read that again: citizens who went to the polls, placed on the same level as a nuclear bomb.
That is the Netanyahu family legacy: disgusting racism, bigotry, corruption, war crimes, and an Israel turned into a rogue genocidal state, despised and isolated around the world.
