Fernando Alonso was the problem. His rookie teammate was beating him in his first season and instead of keeping things professional, he made it personal. He turned against the team, leaked information and used it to blackmail.
Jenson Button was not the problem. He was his rival and Lewis Hamilton has openly admitted his own mistakes during their time together.
Lewis Hamilton and Nico Rosberg were locked in a championship battle that turned toxic. The team had to step in and years later, he admitted to playing dirty. Their rivalry took a toll on him, both physically and mentally and he retired.
George Russell was not the problem. He never pulled the kind of ridiculous moves that Charles Leclerc does. If anything, Mercedes and Toto Wolff made his final years with the team increasingly difficult.
And let's add Valtteri Bottas to this list. He had his fair share of battles with Lewis Hamilton but eventually came to understand that reaching his level was not realistic for him. Instead, he focused on fighting for podiums and he succeeded. He finished his Mercedes career with double digit wins, multiple podiums and 5 Constructors' Championships to his name.
Out of everyone you've listed, only 1 person has continued to speak negatively about Lewis Hamilton while the rest have consistently praised him.
Lewis Hamilton has spent 20 years in Formula 1 and has experienced some of the most intense teammate rivalries in the sport’s history. He understands what it takes to win as a team, something Charles Leclerc struggles to grasp despite being in his 9th year in Formula 1. And continues to cost his team valuable wins and podiums, throwing away crucial opportunities and points that could make a difference in the championship.
Funny how that works isn't it.

🚨| Charles Leclerc: "We both completely miss the corner and then clearly we both brake too late and I couldn't make the corner so I cut it. My initial objective was to give the position back to Lewis but unfortunately there was Max who was between us and well I asked on the radio but clearly we thought it wasn't clear enough for me to drop back to 3rd. So as a result we stayed in the lead. We're going to review it I'm sure it's going to be one of the talking points in debriefing."

#MexicoGP 🇲🇽 | Lewis Hamilton says Charles Leclerc has a ‘do or die’ mentality but it shouldn’t be like that:
“Before I joined this team, when I was in Mercedes, I watched and witnessed the back-and-forth between Charles and Carlos. Several races where they were battling so much that the person ahead just pulled away, and they had the pace to actually win the race.”
“It’s one thing when that's happening in fourth and fifth as opposed to first and second, and you lose the win. That's significant. The guy is 28 years old, so I don't think it's an age thing. I think it's a mentality thing.”
“It's like do or die. Like, either I win, or none of us do, and it shouldn't be that. It should be, us having got that one-two, which is still a good feeling.”
“At Silverstone, I could have gone all kamikaze on him and taken him off and lost us the the win, but instead a one-two was there, and I think we got a one-two, or was it a one-three? I'm happy for the team to have experienced that. I'm hopeful we'll work towards a better place in the future.”
I would sooner see Max win today than Charl. Fuck that guy and fuck you @ScuderiaFerrari….
Even Max saw that this is BS. But @fia went soft on Charl because Lewis was affected. This is so exhausting.
What is taking race control so long to penalize Charles? It is a slam dunk penalty. Or is this a case of FIA disadvantage Lewis Hamilton at all costs rules yet again…?
Catching up on last night’s games! Super impressive win by the Rockets over OKC. Houston are unbeaten this season and they put one of (if not the best) teams in the league to the sword with a 21 point blow out!
