Since he's popular rn, a few years ago @robotchimpz and I were tossing around ideas for a small game featuring Slenderman. We imagined him moving all weird and floppy like a puppet, crawling out of radio speakers, and this was used as a reference image.

I'm excited for the movie, even if it could've geared more towards RE, I think the tone and focus of it is perfectly understandable. He says in the clip that he KNOWS there's a reason for the coat. when you make a movie you don't have all the time in the world-

Zach Cregger says he chose to keep his ‘RESIDENT EVIL’ movie as grounded as possible. “I’m not gonna have a gigantic jacked dude in a trench coat because I’m like ‘where did the coat come from?’… the T-Virus does all sorts of cool mutations that's enough.”

you have to pick and choose what elements you want or need. Umbrella is in the movie, sure. but focusing on the character and his story, someone who isn't related to Umbrella at all, how deep can you really get into it? Most people don't even seem to actually watch the clip.

He could've included it, but I feel like he'd have to half-ass it and it'd just leave room for audiences not familiar with the franchise to feel more confused than anything, and a cheap way for fans to go "Hey, that's the guy from the games! With his iconic coat!"
