Even though I had provided ample proof to her, I've never understood why the former Ombudsperson would not have initiated any investigation whatsoever based on my serious allegations, especially given her own spoken words, unless she was 'directed' to shut it down?
Tarion is on LinkedIn promoting its Ombuds. But Tarion won't accept comments to that post - we wonder why.

It's not just furnaces! Luckily I poked my head up into the attic a few months after closing to check the insulation & found an exhaust pipe venting into the attic! Did Builder leave the fan running 24/7 during drywalling process & all the moisture just sat trapped in the attic?

Preparing for the LAT has involved endless stressful & angry hours locked in a room trying to compress the abundance of damning evidence I've accrued over the years down to short summaries using only sections that apply to New Home Warranty Act & OBC for each defect. So wrong!

I am convinced frustrated Tarion Reps like mine are pressured from above to make complex Inspection cases go away. Where to? The LAT (License Appeal Tribunal) where High paid lawyers for Tarion will use any means to really make the case go away, leaving House Buyers in the lurch!

ps The Tarion Rep did make it "Go Away" in the end! Where? To the Licence Appeal Tribunal! ps. To date, I never did receive the $1,000 each to make it go away.

Of course this doesn't meet SB-12 requirements! Tarion Rep knew nothing about construction & refused to investigate. Her only solution: Call expert to balance ducts? Why? She made claim go away by running furnace for 3 hours➡️Basement reached 22 degrees BUT Main Floor was now 28!
After spending hundreds of lost hours trying to prepare for my upcoming Tarion LAT, all well dealing with the many nights of lost sleep, I now fully understand why a man of such high stature, Dr Earl Shuman, could be so driven to take his own life.

#Tarion could not be bothered to check the insulation in my cold basement even though I showed this picture. According to OBC & plans, all insulation above grade (dotted line) must be R22, same as main floor. Their solution,keep thermostat on main floor at 28 & bsmt will be warm.
My house was built in April 2014! After initially denying my claim of poor drywall finish, why did I have to deconstruct to prove a Year 7 Major Structural Defect? Tarion finally warranted & Builder repaired. How did this obvious defect appear to pass critical Framing Inspection?
