Fab isn't the moat here either. You don't need the latest foundry node for DRAM/NAND flash. Apple can even dust off Global Foundries fabs in New York and Dresden; or look for other niche fabs in Singapore and Japan.
The moat is IP.

Apple could have bought $MU in 2022 when Micron's market cap was merely $60 billion dollars during the 2022/2023 downturn.
Instead, Apple squeezed Micron, SK hynix and Samsung out for cheap memory, the memory producers were forced to sell memory below their average cost which led to billions of dollars of losses, and the pushout of CapEx.
Ironically, thanks to Apple, we are now sitting in an unprecedented memory shortage, while new fabs aren't coming online until 2028/2029.

Mississippi U.S. Senate Race Update
Since Hinds County has not reported votes tonight tonight, I wouldn't expect a call in Mississippi's Senate race from VoteHub until next week at the earliest.
Colom holds a small lead, and ballots reported since Election Day have been more favorable to him than the initial returns in each county. That suggests his lead is much more likely to grow than shrink. Hinds County, a heavily Democratic county that includes Jackson, also accounts for a disproportionate share of the estimated outstanding ballots, which should help him.
The challenge is determining how many ballots remain statewide. Mississippi has a history of reporting substantial numbers of votes after Election Day, but it lacks a centralized system for tracking outstanding ballots like those in Arizona or California. Gathering that information requires contacting counties individually. We don't yet have enough information to rule out *with complete certainty* the possibility that a few Republican counties have enough outstanding ballots to give Hyde-Smith a path back.
VoteHub currently has 28 uncalled federal and gubernatorial races, most of which are highly, highly unlikely to change leaders. Even compared to those other races, Mississippi is not very high on the list of those we consider most likely to flip.
