The dead horse will be beaten until it comes back to life...
#BreakingNews | The preferred location for the world's largest tidal power scheme has been revealed. A 1.5-mile stretch of the River Mersey has been identified as the preferred zone to develop a barrage between Wirral and Liverpool, which would create thousands of jobs, generate clean energy for over 120 years and protect businesses and homes from flooding caused by rising sea levels. Mayor Steve Rotheram said: “At a time when events around the world can send energy prices soaring, we need to make better use of the resources we have on our own doorstep. We should be generating more of our own energy, strengthening our energy security and creating good jobs here at home.  "And with the potential to protect homes and businesses from rising sea levels too, this could be an investment in our region's future that our children, grandchildren and generations beyond them could still be benefiting from a century from now." The family of a pedestrian who sadly died in a road traffic collision in a supermarket car park in Knotty Ash, have paid tribute. At around 3.40pm on Saturday 10 October, officers were called to Sainsbury's car park on East Prescot Road to reports of a serious collision involving an orange-coloured van and a pedestrian. Robert Siner¸ 84 years, from Old Swan was taken to hospital following the incident. Sadly, despite the best efforts of medical staff, he died on Monday 26 October from his injuries. The van driver stopped at the scene and is assisting police with enquiries. Today (Thursday 29 October), Robert’s family have issued the following tribute: “We are heartbroken to share the passing of Robert ‘Bobby’ Siner, a much-loved husband, dad, grandad and friend. “He was a true gentleman who had time for everyone he came across on his many walks. He was always the optimist and saw the good in people – he was a glass always half-full type of guy. He became a familiar face to many people in the local community who would see him on his daily walks. “As a husband, he was kind and loving, a best friend who offered constant support. As a dad he was warm, loving, fun, always the optimist he taught us to always see the best in people and the best in life - and he was a bit of a cheeky rogue! As a grandad he was devoted to his grandchildren, never causing a fuss to do the school run on foot, and he loved to have sing along and sweets on the way home! He loved going to his the local, the Derby Lodge on Prescot Road, to socialise with his good friends where they played domino’s and watched his beloved Liverpool FC. “Bobby was known by everyone the length and breadth of Old Swan and Edge Hill. While our hearts are broken, and we are still totally in shock, we are grateful for the time we had and all the countless memories that bring us comfort at this difficult time. “Bobby leaves behind a legacy love of that will live on forever in all the hearts he touched, and we kindly ask for privacy during this difficult time as we grieve and begin to heal. We are thankful for the support and kindness that we have received, it means the world to us, thank you.” Enquiries are ongoing and officers are asking anyone who witnessed the collision, or the events leading up to it, to come forward. Detective Sergeant Kurt Timpson, the Lead Investigating Officer from the Merseyside Police Serious Collision Investigation Unit, said: "My thoughts and those of my team remain with Robert's family at this desperately sad time. They are being supported by a specially trained Family Liaison Officer. "Our investigation continues, and our priority is to ensure we get answers for Robert's family and establish the facts about what happened. "The car park was busy at the time of the collision and while we have already spoken to some witnesses and obtained CCTV footage, I would ask people to cast their minds back to 10 October. "If you saw the collision or feel you have information that may help our enquiries, please get in touch. Equally, if you have any additional footage, it could help us to establish exactly how this collision took place." Anyone with information is asked to direct message @MerPolCC on social media, contact the Serious Collision Investigation Unit on (0151) 777 5747, or email [email protected], quoting reference 26000833315. Alternatively, information can be passed anonymously to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111. If you were present and continue to be affected by this incident, help can be obtained through Aftermath Support, by calling 0845 634 4273 or emailing [email protected]

I'm not sure I could even guess how much it would be to hire this, even just for a short haul euro flight. 76 seats with enough legroom for me!
✈️ | Jet2 has launched its first-ever business class aircraft, based at Liverpool John Lennon Airport! The Boeing 737 features 76 premium seats instead of 189, with at least 43 inches of legroom and upgraded catering.

Yet another example of FSD having zero intuition. Car ahead is driving straight at an obstruction and not slowing or moving. Any driver with eyes and a brain backs the hell off. Not staying on the throttle like nothing is happening as is shown here.

Tithebarn Street from Moorfields, early 1980s and 2026 Almost all of Exchange Station had been demolished, and only the facade remained standing. All the rest of the current building was then built behind it. I think they did a great job because I wouldn't have known!

10 years later and they *might* announce where it might go. A city that can't finish a bike lane, can't run a ferry, can't build a merseyrail station, can't build a bendy bus.. Hmm....

@Liverpool_ONE Just heard that you won't accept ebikes in the New Cycle Storeage facility, in the carport, yet you accept electric cars to park in the same car park. Why one and not the other, surely if an electric vehicle causes a fire then any petrol cars around it would ignite

Rapid is only Rapid if it runs in dedicated lanes. ZERO private motor vehicles. Close a lane of The Strand, close the Dock Road entirely. Fix the Bramley Moore transport issues. Just in case @LCRMayor has forgotten about this...

The collapse in violent crime over three decades has been one of the most striking developments of my lifetime. News is about what’s going wrong, and rightly so. But the bigger picture also matters From today’s figures:-

Oh my goodness this has to be right. Instead of generating a random 256-bit number they generated a random number between 0 and 256. That’s how they got 4, 66, 155, 156, 230 and 237.

They misread 256 bit as 0-256, I bet

If you have a physically active job - cheap labour, you may need 3000 calories per day. £300 a month might sound a lot, but I'd be amazed if you could live for less than £200 and £250+ would still be very basic. Many of the posts with specific prices are years out of date...
Who, on minimum wage, is spending £300 per month on food? If you’re on minimum wage, you can’t be buying M&S ready meals, you have to be prepared to cook from scratch with ingredients purchased in Aldi/Lidl. Frozen veg, pasta, rice, eggs, tinned food, etc, almost no snacking food, every meal planned out. You can’t complain and the price of things and then demonstrate you’re actually complaining about your inability of getting value for your money.
