If had to choose one piece of advice that i could only remember, it would 100% be being optimistic
Being delusionally optimistic is such an advantage, because where everyone tells you how stuff wont work or can go wrong;
You can either prove them wrong OR learn so many valueble lessons if you just stick with it
And the best of all, while you were doing it, you were having fun and were optimistic!
Its literally a cheatcode
Thanks @marclou for the inspiration (again)
I made $217,071 in September 2026.

The HYROX experiment hyrox.marclou.com inflates this month's revenue, but it's the best month ever for my marketplace TrustMRR.com ($53K) and my SaaS DataFa.st ($31K).
I do everything solo, and I'm not going to lie, I'm fucking proud of myself.
Since I was a kid, I've been told to focus on one thing. I find that boring. I want to play and try a bunch of things.
I never felt confident because nothing really worked out for 7 years. I ended up being average at everything: coding, marketing, design...
But building 37 startups (marclou.com) taught me something far more important: resilience, discipline, and optimism.
Over the past decade, those skills have compounded. I now run a tiny portfolio of startups making $1M+/year, sleep 8 hours a night, work out 2 hours a day, and spend plenty of time with my wife.
Anything is possible if you're hungry.
Believe in yourself.

18 months into working every evening, every free hour in my weekend, and this is what it got me till now:
- I have been stressed out more, bc of the lack of sleep
- I built around 5 products, 1 i am really betting on, although it is a long take
- I made about 1k in total across all of them
- I have never felt more motivated, because i am ACTUALLY working on my future
- I found out my ADHD plays a very big role in my life which i didnt know before
I would do it again ๐ฏ
the difference is that after 18 months i finally have a clearer image of where to go, and that is worth more to me than the 1k!

I made a tool that allows customers to create their own filters ๐
with JEV this is the first time it actually feels instant
> type "for the winter" and it classifies every product on the fly, based on the product information
with EasyFinder we've been chasing intent-based search for 18 months, so this is actually really cool!
still an experiment, but having a few other ideas on JEV for i will share soon
Let me know what you think! ๐ should i make a demo?

i have zero 3D skills. like actually zero
gave Astra this image and asked for an animated record player, and it just... did it. one shot, no back and forth, no fixing
no idea what i'm going to use it for yet ๐
but i've watched it about forty times now.
its so cool

Still wild that webshop search is mostly string matching on titles and tags ๐ซ
"something to clean my garden" gives me 0 results, on a shop that sells things that do exactly that.
With my startup EasyFinder it is (of course) built in!
New feature video out now!๐
Let me know if you guys want to know anything else!

I put my new app Lanesโ repository in Claude and asked it how to get more installs ๐
it suggested i should make a homebrew tap, so i made it!
Installation of Lanes is now 1 command away "brew install rowansail/tap/lanes"
Let me know if you have any other marketing tips!

If you are in the need of some positivity, i am here to bring it ๐
I started this account 2 years ago knowing nothing about the secret indie-hacker community.
Now i'm part of a group that all want the same thing: build awesome software and sell it so you can be free ๐
Some people vanished from my timeline in those 2 years, some flew higher in 1 week than i did in the whole two. i'd be lying if i said that didn't sting a bit.
but everyone here is still nice, compassionate and builds cool stuff.
I will eventually reach my dream of having a solid income through my apps, still chipping away at EasyFinder in the evenings until then.
how long have you lot been at your thing? ๐

Does it actually make you the top 1% if you work weekends and evenings
or is that a lie we keep telling ourselves to pretend being productive, even though we just have to work smarter
And then again, what is even working "smart" ???

Last week i shipped my first Mac app: Lanes ๐ฅณ
The same week, my startup EasyFinder that i have been running for the past 1.5 years, is still at $0MRR. We are currently talking about pivoting!
The early days as a founder are so many ups and downs, its insane!
If you could give me one piece of advice, what would that be?

All webshops ruin searching on color, with EasyFinder we fixed it ๐
Most shops just match whatever color tag someone typed into the product data, so you search dark green and get everything vaguely green, or nothing at all
Second video in my EasyFinder feature series, hope you like it ๐ช
A few weeks ago we finally shipped EasyFinder and started marketing properly ๐ฅณ
Now i will also be recording one feature per video for my X profile
A classic searchbar breaks when you try a search in a different language, EasyFinder does NOT care about that!
Check it out, and please do tell if the pacing is off! ๐

I have much work to do!
It will be fine though, takes time but never impossible!

I touched some grass today!
Meanwhile we have been researching if we should pivot my 1.5 y/o startup EasyFinder, marketing isnt yet bringing the results we wanted
But like we all know, only way is up!
Lets go ๐๏ธโโ๏ธ
Tips are always welcome!

Yesterday i launched my new side-project called Lanes
It lets you run multiple Claude accounts next to eachother.
I am a webdeveloper so i have never built a mac app, thats why i decided to just vibecode it!
3 years ago this would have taken a year to build, now i did it in a week ๐
What an amazing time we live in!
rowansail retweeted
You can only have one Claude account at a time
i found myself logging in and out about a 100 times a day๐ฅฒ
so i vibe-coded my FIRST mac app๐ฎ
Lanes is out now!
Lanes keeps the active account in your menu bar, with one click to switch ๐ + some other handy features!
