The hard boiled eggs at the hotel breakfast weren't boiled there. They came peeled, in brine.
The foodservice case is a 25 lb tub. The label reads hard cooked eggs, water, citric acid, sodium benzoate and nisin preparation as preservatives. Shelf life is 56 days in the cooler. A plant cooks the eggs in a continuous boiler, cracks and peels them with rollers and water jets, and floats them in the tub. The kitchen opens it, drains a hotel pan's worth and sets it out.
A peeled egg is wet, high in protein and sits at a pH bacteria like, so the acid drops the pH and the benzoate stops yeast and mold. Nisin is a peptide made by a dairy bacterium, and it's in there for Listeria. A 2019 Listeria outbreak traced to a Georgia plant that peels eggs made 7 people sick in 5 states, hospitalized 4 and killed 1.

The blatant judicial intervention on Lula’s behalf has irreparably tainted this election. Annulment followed by another vote is the only way for Brazil’s next president to have legitimacy. The United States should not recognize this election as valid.
Zanin, Lula’s personal lawyer that he put on the Supreme Court, clarifies his order on voting hours extension — it will ONLY apply to voting locations that were still open. i.e. ones that the communists had kept open in anticipation of his order. The rest of the voting locations are to remain closed and to go ahead with finalizing their vote counts.

Saw a post the other day about a guy who ran a technical group and every month took his team to lunch at a Brazilian steakhouse. Had been doing it for years. The company hires one subcont and he goes along for the monthly lunch and orders non beef. Few days later HR tells the group leader he can’t go to the steakhouse anymore as the j**t had complained. A popular tradition ended by one complaint.
