Sir Ian McKellen has made a statement on the tragic passing of Sir Patrick Stewart.
“He wore his heart on his sleeve, which made him a man to rely on, to admire and in my case, love.”

So many other things to remember and celebrate Sir Patrick Stewart for... but this has to be one of the best line readings in the history of The Simpsons

People from Ireland are trying to explain to this American lady why Derry had virtually no inward immigration in the 90s and she is actually arguing back with them, Yanks man.
No one said this shit about Derry Girls which was actually was CASTED like that and was not that long ago
Readers added context they thought people might want to know
Derry Girls is set during the 1990s, when Northern Ireland was an active warzone and had a 98% white population. Several episodes reference the fact no one wants to come there, or show the girls’ microaggressions to other races/nationalities, such as Chinese and Ukrainian.

Wait till @JDVance hears about the electoral college
JD Vance on ranked choice voting: "I don't understand it. It seems to me that you have an election, the person who wins the most votes should win. That seems to be not what happens with ranked choice voting. The fact that it's so confusing to a person who pays pretty close attention to politics I think suggests we should do our elections in, like, the normal way."

Most probably do, actually. A large majority of Brits recognise the importance of supporting an ally against our number one geopolitical foe.
You want Russia to win - fine, but most people here do not.

Peak British NIMBYism.
Montenegro cannot have an embassy in Pimlico because the daughter of an American diplomat thinks an embassy beside her place is a breach of the human rights and equality act because of her anxiety disorder and long Covid. 🥀🥀🥀

What dribbling nonsense.
This isn't a war that both sides stumbled into and which is only persisting because of mutual intransigence. It's a campaign of Russian conquest kept going entirely by the Russians who refuse to stop. Anyone pretending otherwise is de facto pro-Russia.
I’ve been looking into the war in Ukraine over the past 24 hours and I’ll admit that I’m shocked. In the region of one million people have been killed so far. Russians and Ukrainians. War is insane. You’d have thought after the First World War that people would have realised that sending millions of young men to be slaughtered was a bad idea, but it seems that nothing was learned. Come on Putin and Zelenskyy; get on the phone to each other and call it a day. I’m happy to come out to Russia, buy you both a drink while we sit in a pub and put a stop to this. Let’s sort it now.

Ramaswamy will lose the gubernatorial race, and his despicable, sociopathic conduct should shame him out of public life for good. i don’t think it’s hyperbole to say he cobbled together the single most vile ad in modern American history.
Amy Acton's stepfather's surviving biological daughter spoke to The Daily Mail when they knocked on her door in Ohio, while sobbing.
She said: She believed Amy's story, because her father raped her sister more than once (the victim in this 1974 indictment); she remembered Amy lived in a tent with Donna and Cledith; it's been terrible for her family to see Vivek's ad run in Ohio; and she heard rumors her father had victimized even more young girls.

You used to be able to watch a movie called The Birds and watch 119 minutes of birds terrorizing people. But now in the streaming era it's an 8 episode miniseries that spends the first seven hours teasing the birds before you see a feather in the last five minutes of the finale.
