Going forward, there might be one role “gen ai generalist”. Just someone with good taste and design sense, who can execute anything from development to content using agents. Good sales skills and good design skills will become even more valuable.

Masters Union SF!
Today, we’re launching an ambitious new school called The Horowitz Andreessen Academy. Based in San Francisco, The Academy serves the most promising young high school graduates. We think this can be an elite institution that attracts top tier talent. One that prepares students for the future rather than remaining stuck in the past. The #1 goal is to help students learn to build, which is the most important skill in the AI era. They'll learn primarily by pursuing their own projects, either individually or in groups. There are classes and guest lectures, too, from some truly amazing people who have built modern-day Silicon Valley. The Academy is designed as a network, since that’s the reason students go to school in the first place. Core to that network are our 10 Founding Partners: Anduril, Anthropic, Coinbase, Google, Meta, NVIDIA, OpenAI, Palantir, Replit, and Stripe. The network includes over 50 hiring partners and over 200 speakers and mentors. To join as a hiring partner or faculty member, you can apply on our website. We raised $42M in funding led by @a16z. I'll be CEO and @pmarca and @eriktorenberg will join me on the board. Applications are open for our Founding Class Fellowship, which will be one year and tuition-free. Eventually, pending regulatory approval, we plan to offer a two-year program that charges tuition, similar in cost to an elite private university. We're looking for the most unusually ambitious young builders on the planet. Come join us in San Francisco: theacademysf.com/

Apparently every theorem can be proved just with linear algebra? Absolute W for representation theorists.

I find myself disagreeing with Terence Tao (a very scary phrase to say!) and think the core question posed is whether the "misalignment" is between the mathematical community and humanity. In other words - are the Millenium Prize problems meant to incentivize advancements for humanity or foster the field of mathematics and mathematicians? As a counter example, if there was a prize for creating a drug that cured a rare strain of cancer, we would not care if it was AI that did it. We would be happy it has been solved. On the other hand, if long running agents figured out the puzzle in "Kryptos", the cryptographic statue in Langley, there would be something a tiny bit sad about the human artistry removed.

Very funny that xAI was created to stop Anthropic which was created to stop OpenAI which was created to stop Google which would've actually never developed ASI because it was afraid of cannibalizing its ads revenue from search.

Deleted all posts from last few days. Every post I made was totally true, everyone from inside the system knows it too. Tried to stop things from getting here, but failed. Done with this idiocracy, continue getting gaslit if you want to, doesn’t affect me at all.

You'll never satisfy an ungrateful person. Not because you're not doing enough, but because gratitude isn't a skill they have. Ungrateful people don't see effort. They don't see sacrifice. They don't see consistency. They only see absence. They only see the one thing you didn't do, the one moment you weren't available, the one boundary you finally enforced. You know, you can show up 100 times and they'll highlight the one time you didn't. You know, you can carry them through storms and they'll bring up the day, you didn't bring an umbrella. And you can exhaust yourself trying to make their life easier and they'll still ask why you didn't do more. That's the thing about ungrateful people. Their memories are selective, but their entitlement is permanent. They don't remember what you gave, only what you didn't give. And the saddest part, people like that never think they're ungrateful. They'll rewrite the story in a way that protects their pride and their ego. Serving ungrateful people is a slow death. A death of your time, your energy, your confidence, your self worth. Because no matter how much you pour, they will drink it, like they're owed. And no matter how much you give, they will take it like, it's the bare minimum. And that's when you realize something very important, the problem was never your effort. It was their capacity to recognize it. Stop expecting gratitude from someone who only knows how to consume. Ungrateful people don't need more from you. They need less access to you. The moment you step back, the moment you protect your peace, the moment you stop overextending, you'll finally see the truth. It's not that you weren't enough. It's that they weren't capable. And you can't save someone who refuses to acknowledge the hand, that saved them.
