If you want to support a solo dev from New Zealand, working his evenings away on this, keep reading..
Void Inc is in Next Fest & it's a workplace management sim with creeping horror. It's pretty good, too (and I'm not biased at all!)
Thank you all 🫶

Happy Halloween freaks!

Four gaming nuffies thought it’d be a good idea to bring back the glory days of gaming magazines.
And if reading isn’t your thing, don’t worry. It’s digital. We’ve got trailers. Pictures. So you don’t even have to read a paragraph, but, I’d highly recommend it. You’ve probably never read an article like it.
So if ya sitting there reading this post, stop wasting your time here and go read our magazine instead. We’ve covered the best games to check out for Halloween.
Please. Our mums can only generate so many views.

If you want a bit of a deeper dive in to the ideas and the why behind Void Inc, keep watch and follow
While analysing reviews and sentiment. There's something I noticed: What makes it great in the some reviews, are the same things that are bad in negative reviews.
You can't please everyone:
Know your audience, & having the right play testers is vital.
Working on a horror game and a cozy game at the same time feels like it's good for me.
Thank you @noru_with_piano for your amazing music! It fits the vibe so well 🙏
Lots of improvements to the ancestral village.
Far away from the hustle and bustle of the city...
Would you stay and fix up a cottage to live in?
A whole bunch of updates went through for Void Inc!
I've got a few more things to fix, but the demo is looking like we're almost there

This is exactly the kind of thinking I was doing while making Void Inc
I spent 7 days, so far, clearing emails to a rhythm beat, micromanaging who gets the premium dark roast, and sweating profusely while trying to keep a literal eldritch horror of a CEO from devouring my physical form.
My real-life manager doesn't even scare me anymore. Yesterday Steve from marketing tried to passive-aggressively BCC me on a thread and I didn't even blink. I just looked him dead in the eye and thought, "You don't have enough teeth to be the worst thing I've reported to this week." Betty saw the absolute, dead-eyed corporate stoicism in my expression and looked genuinely impressed. She thinks I've developed "unshakeable leadership qualities." Little does she know my sanity meter is currently sitting at an unstable 4% and I can hear the copier speaking ancient Aramaic.
If you want a simulator that prepares you for the crushing despair of upper management while a creeping existential dread slowly leaks out of the breakroom refrigerator, this is it. Thanks @samtechcoded

Working on controller support, simplifying a few things, and fixing a few more bugs I found in Void Inc.
I just got back into working on another prototype I have, too:
Can you guess what you think the game is about? Would you play it?
*no gen AI, name on right is not final
Thank you!
**Live Now** Hi Guys! Kev back with another #indiegame Demo reel! I'm going to try these out tonight!
Blade & Burgers @DanielCrow75474
Void Inc @samtechcoded
The Last Imperial Guard @MoXia5l
Dinghai: The Ocean Pillar @JustdanGames
As always, you can bring a demo to the stream and we'll work it in!
Thanks for giving me a run through, appreciate the compliments, I need to look at the camera mode, will add it to my QA run before I release too!
Demo Swap Episode 2 is up! 🎮
This week I played Void Inc by @samtechcoded. My honest thoughts as I play through are in the video below 👇
I forgot to give feedback on the capsule art in the video, so here it is: I really liked how prominent the logo is and that the main character is front and centre.
Thanks for sharing, Sam!

Do you guys have like backup game ideas you work on in the background?
I have two and I think I might have an a/b on them to see which one has the most potential

Void Inc is additively unnerving, especially for someone like me that spent their career in corporate work. Very Severance-Coded
I’m excited to talk to @samtechcoded about this one soon! This could be really something special
If anyone knows any YouTubers/Streamers that would give Void Inc a chance, hit me up!
Having a lot of trouble gettting replies from emails or for anyone to notice Void Inc, figured I'd at least ask.
Thanks in advance, indie peeps of twitter!
Even if you're against AI, I think it's worth trying it for code, to understand how it works.
You might even find small ways to automate the tedious parts of development, freeing up more time for the creative work you actually enjoy, without losing what makes your games yours.
This is the reality of today, I love handmade, and I think real innovation happens by those dedicated people who still love the craft.
However, sometimes your time is not best spent on opening PR's and writing automated tests, but creating good game experiences.
