Pour les utilisateurs de @beBOPcommunity utilisant @BtcpayServer comme processeur Lightning : go go go update celui-ci !
🚨 We're releasing BTPay Server 2.4.7 an emergency update fixing one critical and several medium-severity security vulnerabilities brought to our attention through @Anthropic's frontier OSS scanner.
We recommend that you update your BTCPay Server as soon as possible.

- notre historique
👉 Et surtout, il nous donne le choix.
Et cela change beaucoup de choses.
🧵👇
Our Atlantic crossing: fifteen days, three of us. The autopilot drew too much power in the swell, so we hand-steered the whole way. Three hours at the helm, six hours off.
The electricity went to the instruments and the fridge. 50 litres, packed to the brim. The rest of the food travelled in the open air. After a week, let’s be honest: the vegetables were looking a bit tired.
At sea, you don’t shop for what you fancy.
You shop for the size of your fridge.
Making your own power, storing it, choosing what it’s for: we’ll talk about it on November 5th, 10:00, at Bitcoin Amsterdam. Bring your questions, I’ll bring my stories from the sea.

The panel : “Generating Freedom: Watt It Takes to Go Off-Grid”. Producing your own power, owing nothing to any grid, and runing your node without an electricity bill.
With Duncan Coombe (The Solo Mining Co) @TheSoloMiningCo and Erik Hersman @whiteafrican (Gridless). I’ll be the one coming from the sea.
Because a sailboat is off-grid with no opt-out. Offshore, there’s no socket. Whatever you use, you’ve either produced it or stored it.
On Sato: three 120 W solar panels, lead-acid batteries, and the diesel to move and/or charge. What eats everything: the fridge and the autopilot.
And a lesson learned the hard way: I was sure crossing the Atlantic through the tropics would give me sun to spare. Wrong. Clouds. Lots of clouds.
On land, people think of electricity as a flow: it comes out of the wall, endlessly. On board, you think of it as a stock. Every watt counts. Every watt is a choice.
One exception: the air. That one we take as a flow, in the sails.
See you in Amsterdam. Not coming by boat this time. Next time, promise.

A confession before talking off-grid at Bitcoin Amsterdam: my sailboat ran on diesel too. ⛽
On Sato: a 50-litre tank and two 20-litre jerrycans. 90 litres in total. Enough to run the engine for about 48 hours at normal revs.
48 hours. To cross an ocean.
Part of it goes straight into manoeuvres: leaving one port, entering the next. Two to four hours in total.
And the rest? It charges the batteries. When the sun isn’t enough, and in the tropics it’s less than you’d think, you run the engine one or two hours a day, just for its alternator. That’s daily life on most boats crossing an ocean, especially the older ones.
Do the maths over two weeks at sea: the fuel melts away. And every litre burned to make electricity is a litre you won’t have the day you really need the engine.
That’s the paradox. Offshore, you’re far from any grid. But you’re still tied to one line: the fuel tank.
Being self-reliant doesn’t mean cutting every line. It means knowing which ones you still hold, and working to replace them. The sun, the water rushing past the hull, the wind.
Let’s talk about it on November 5th in Amsterdam.

Yes, prompts and context.
Alice adds a Bitcoin-focused knowledge base, including the full Plan ₿ Academy course content stored locally, plus instructions and a learning profile designed to adapt to the user.
If you’re want to know exactly what Alice adds, the project is open source.
You can have a look at the prompts: github.com/alice-btc/alice/b…
And the retrieval evaluation docs: github.com/alice-btc/alice/b…
Also, this part is constantly evolving since I improve it while testing and having feedbacks.
You can also point Alice to a local AI server using its URL.
In Settings > AI > Custom Server.
That feature is still a work in progress, but in principle, if you already have Qwen running on a server at home, you could connect Alice to it instead of downloading the model again on your device.

A slightly crazy idea from my early days at sea. 🧊⚡
A miner runs hot. Very hot. On land, a big part of the game is getting rid of that heat: fans, air conditioning, immersion.
On a sailboat, there’s an endless source of cold right under the hull: the sea.
And the engine already has everything you need: a circuit that pumps seawater to cool itself.
So I imagined plugging an ASIC into it. The Atlantic as a radiator.
The idea stayed on paper. Cold, I had plenty of. What I lacked was electricity: solar panels, lead-acid batteries, and clouds where I expected sun.
What comes next is more modest: a small solo miner. Not to get rich. To take part. Every machine that tries its luck, however tiny, is one more ticket in the draw for the next block. And every now and then, a small one wins.
Let’s talk about it on November 5th at Bitcoin Amsterdam, with Duncan Coombe @TheSoloMiningCo , whose job this is, and Erik Hersman @whiteafrican.
Would you have dared the seawater-cooled ASIC?
