🚨 Sir Alex Ferguson on Manchester City being found guilty of breaching the Premier League’s financial rules: “I read the news and the first person I thought about was Carlos Tevez. Funny, isn’t it? After all these years. We wanted Carlos to stay. David Gill spoke to his representatives, we made our offer, they said we’d left it too late and eventually he went across Manchester. Then City put up that bloody ‘Welcome to Manchester’ poster. I remember looking at it and thinking, ‘They haven’t just signed one of our players. They want us to know they can.’ That was when I called them a small club with a small mentality. But there was something else happening around that period that people forget. Suddenly City could walk into conversations for players that previously would have been choosing between United, Chelsea, Arsenal, Madrid, Barcelona. I remember one summer hearing that Adebayor had agreed to join City, then apparently his people were still contacting us and Chelsea. I thought, ‘What a strange situation. Players who would rather be somewhere else are signing for City anyway.’ At the time, you simply accepted that they had enormous financial power. You competed with it. That’s football. But if you then discover years later that rules were being broken during the period in which you’re trying to compete with that financial power, you’re entitled to look back differently. Because people will say, ‘Ferguson was just angry because City became successful.’ No. I was angry before they were successful. I was standing there in 2009 watching them take Tevez, chase players everywhere and put his face on a building to celebrate taking him from us. Imagine telling me then, ‘Alex, one day the Premier League will investigate how all of this was being financed.’ I’d probably have pointed at the poster and said, ‘You might want to start there.’ And that’s the part people miss when discussing what happened afterwards. Once you change the financial strength of one club, you don’t only change that club. You change where players go. You change what everybody else has to pay. You change which manager gets which footballer. You change title races before the first ball is kicked. People can spend the next twenty years asking whether this player would’ve joined United, whether that player would’ve joined Chelsea, whether somebody else would’ve gone to Arsenal. Nobody can prove those alternate histories. But I know this much. When I was fighting them, I thought I was fighting Manchester City. Apparently I should’ve brought an accountant.”

I know today's incident near RAF Fairford will be deeply concerning for local residents and for many people following developments across the country. My thanks go to Gloucestershire Police, Counter Terrorism Policing, our Armed Forces and all those working to keep the public safe. I am especially grateful to those residents who have been asked to leave their homes while precautionary checks are carried out. The safety and security of the public is our first priority, and I want people to know that we will always take every step necessary to protect our communities and keep our country safe. The investigation remains ongoing, and I would urge people not to speculate while the authorities establish the full facts.

Again. These sort of statements further underline why Reform are not a serious party of government.
When I revealed terrorists were using the small boats to enter the UK, the Home Office - with the support of Yvette Cooper - threatened me. They sought to cover up a national security emergency. We may now be seeing the consequences of their unforgivable complacency.

I, Kevin Rowland (the son of Irish immigrants) and the main songwriter of ‘Come On Eileen,’ am disgusted to learn that Nigel Farage has used our song to make his entrance for his party conference. Myself, and all of Dexys are passionately against Farage’s politics. @ByDonkeys .

Congratulations to Andrew Griffith on becoming Shadow Chancellor. The economic establishment of the last three decades has failed Britain. They must be taken on.

.@ZiaYusufUK continues to use the word “traitor” about anyone with whom he disagrees. It’s way beyond time that @Nigel_Farage told him to calm down and moderate his language.
I didn’t vote for either of the winners of the last two General Elections but “traitors” for whom a “reckoning is coming”? Really? This very excitable, angry & hyperbolic man should be nowhere near a position of responsibility in a political party that aspires to power.

oh look a lesson from a man who never put a uniform on..just worked at bank. A man who is literally making policy and facts up. A man who cant even get his own party to pick him as an MP ( tell us why please?). When Reform stop taking £5m bungs and start being honest with people then people might take you seriously. No one is saying dont send prisoners back when you can but dont lie to the public you can do it with a magic wand. You guys are getting desperate. After all you recruited Suella!

We’re changing the rules. When applying for a contract from the government there will now be one simple test: are you creating British jobs? And are you giving young people the skills they need for the future? These new rules will ensure the £90 billion that is spent each year through government contracts supports British jobs, skills and people in every postcode.

Viktor Orbán and his government already knew in 2022 that Hungary's energy system was in its final days and on the brink of collapse. Yet they did nothing. According to their own government proposal from 2022, the root cause was that the government at the time had burdened the system with electricity demand equivalent to the output of an entire Paks nuclear power plant in order to serve major investors. They knew this perfectly well because their own calculations showed that they had committed more electricity to large-scale industrial projects —particularly battery industry investments — than Hungary's energy system could safely supply. Orbán and his team knew everything. They were fully aware of the threats to Hungary's energy security, yet they did nothing. By 2022, no significant new power generation capacity capable of operating at any time had been built for more than a decade. The replacement and upgrading of ageing power plants had been neglected, The rapid expansion of solar power had not been matched by the necessary upgrades to the electricity grid, reserve capacity, or energy storage. The construction of wind farms had been obstructed.

Count Binface is the clear choice for tactical- voting Clacton voters - both funnier and genuinely anti-establishment than two-faced Farage trousering millions for himself. The people’s choice: Binface!
