The first paper of my PhD has been published - it describes the Southern Ocean Radiolarian (SO-RAD) dataset that myself and my colleagues put together.
We compiled published radiolarian census counts, and included counts from new, previously unpublished sites.

It was so nice to be able to meet our international friends in person!!
ANZIC rep, Kelly Lawler (@sci_kel ) had a very productive time catching up with our colleagues from @ECORD_IODP , IODP3 and @icdpDrilling at #EGU25.
It's always good to have a chance to put our heads together!!
My first EGU! I can’t believe how many people are here and how many things are going on - feels like it needs to be a month long to fit everything in!
At #EGU25? Make sure to seek out ANZIC's Kelly Lawler (@sci_kel)
Kelly is representing us & presenting findings from our CORE funding program in this session:

Have a great time Kelly!
From Antarctica to Parliament House. The connections you make early in your career can last a lifetime!

Science Meets Parliament 2025. When I think about the last two days and the impact scientists can make, I thought about putting these two pictures together.
Bringing what we do front of mind to the people making decisions for all Australia’s.

Thrilled to have Kelly Lawler and Jody Webster representing us at this year's #ScienceMeetsParliament
A great chance to hone new skills, meet other passionate scientists, and - of course - talk to politicians about what matters.
Let the 25th year of Science Meets Parliament begin!
So happy to be here on behalf of @anzic_iodp.

There I am with my bright pink slide!
Lightning talks: a quick-fire, creative way to reel your peers in to come and take a look at your
#Antarctic research poster and continue the conversation. All in one minute. Poetic, right?

“I do think things would be very different if I hadn’t met Leanne,” says Kelly-Anne Lawler (@sci_kel).
In her full, but shortened life, Prof Leanne Armand was an amazing scientist and mentor to many. But her legacy lives on.

This is important for assessments of present-day marine ecosystem health and functioning, and to reconstruct past ocean environments as analogs to ongoing climate change.
