President Kagame when US removed Rwanda from AGOA. This is leadership!
The US to exclude Rwanda from AGOA once again. In 2018, the US suspended Rwanda’s preferential trade benefits under AGOA. Why? Because Rwanda stood up for its local textile industry and challenged the importation of second-hand clothes from the US. Rwanda called on fellow East African countries to reduce their reliance on imported second-hand clothing and focus instead on building local manufacturing capacity, creating jobs, and strengthening domestic industries. The US opposed this policy and pressured Rwanda to reverse its position. While other EAC countries bowed to US pressure, Rwanda maintained its stance, arguing that Africa needed to build its own industrial capacity rather than remain dependent on imported used clothing. The consequence was the suspension of Rwanda’s AGOA benefits in 2018. Now, years later, Washington is once again moving toward excluding Rwanda, alongside South Africa, from AGOA. My question: Is AGOA being used purely as a trade development programme, or is access to it increasingly influenced by political and diplomatic considerations?

JD Vance tried to take a victory lap for Trump over NYC’s successes. Mayor Zohran Mamdani responded with a HILARIOUS video that perfectly captures the art of taking credit for someone else’s work. 😂 Trump administration’s contribution: Look busy. Do nothing. Take ALL the credit. JD Vance just got roasted without Mamdani saying a single word!

After seeing comparisons between Barack Obama and Donald Trump giving speeches over the weekend, here's another comparison about how they each talk. #Obama #Trump #presidential

When Drushantha Ramsamy was testifying at the Commission, during the first day, she was nervous. Advocate Lee Seegels-Ncube had to remind her to speak up quite a few times. At some point, while reading the numbers, either it was numbers or dates, she got them wrong and exclaimed "Oh I need to get this right, I'm dyslexic, I know my Mother is watching". 🥹 At the time, we didn't trust her, we thought she was one of the suspicious, dishonest, cabal members of IDAC. Little did we know that in the next few days of her testimony, she would dismatle the cabal by exposing each and every little devious activity and evil plans that were carried out by her seniors, led by her boss Andrea Johnson, someone she had called "Mama", out of respect. She provided the Commission with receipts and detailed notes of one PROJECT DIVERSION, whose intention was to get rid of General Masemola, General Khumalo, Brigadier Mokwele and other Crime Intelligence officials by cooking up charges against them. She in the process won our hearts as the nation. ❤️ It is because of her meticulous, encrypted note taking and her courageous testimony that the charges against General Masemola and crime intelligence officials were eventually dropped. Drushantha literally saved lives. I hope your Mother and your family are proud of you Dru as we also are. We extend gratitude to your family and recognize that you may have put your life and theirs at risk, however, one day your children and grandchildren will read in the history books, how you played a critical role in the cleaning up of our Criminal Justice System, to rid it of criminals disguised as law enforcers. Most importantly, you helped to clear General Masemola's name and removed a dark cloud that was hanging over his head. You aldo saved her daughter, who you said was also targeted by your bosses and their partners in crime. When he eventually retires, he will leave the office with his integrity intact, because of you. He will not be known as one of the National Commissioners who couldn't finish their terms due to allegations of corruption. Thank you Dru. May God bless and protect you. 🙏🏽❤️🇿🇦

The Nkandla Twins’s dad will pull through this latest scare too. He is THAT resilient, strong & springy💪🏽 I remember vividly when he was released from prison on medical parole in September 2021, after serving only ~2 months of his 15-month sentence for that minor misunderstanding about him pissing on the Zondo State Capture Talkshop which attracted a contempt of court. His Dr & the ANC cadres assured us that old dude had a terminal disease/condition that was chronic & progressive, with significant deterioration. That he was literally being fed yoghurt via a drip, whilst on his deathbed. Needless to say, he miraculously pulled through & would be regularly seen singing, dancing & gyrating energetically like a teen under the influence. Whilst chanting about his missing machine gun of sorts—much to the delight of his fans😍
[BREAKING] uMkhonto weSizwe Party leader Jacob Zuma has been admitted at a Pietermaritzburg hospital following a routine medical checkup on 6 October. Tune in to #eNCA, on #DStv403.

I’m not sure how to feel about this, but I’ll be watching this expedition very closely because, as far as I know, no one has made it through alive. 700 km of Kayaking through wilderness inhabited by elephants, crocodiles, hippos ( arguably the most dangerous of them all) ,anacondas and gorillas, through a mosquito-infested stretch of wilderness. This is beyond wild and I don’t know why anyone would choose this adventure… Ay Abelungu🥹

Ian is being counterrevolutionary here. For starters, Comrade Senzo has been cleared by our apex law enforcement agencies: the ANC Integrity Commission & the ANC NEC. Even that parliamentary ad hoc committee was unanimous: “Just because Comrade Senzo does all he can to protect criminal cartels & syndicates doesn’t mean he is guilty of any wrongdoing”. And the Madlanga talkshow’s findings aren’t binding or admissible in a court of law💁🏽‍♂️ If at all, Cyril must motivate for Comrade Senzo to get a salary-for-life, & have the King Shaka International Airport re-renamed after him. For his good work. And for freeing KZN people from apartheid🫩🙄
Ian Cameron, chair of Parliament’s Portfolio Committee on Police, says Senzo Mchunu has received more than R3.16 million in remuneration while on special leave, while acting Police Minister Firoz Cachalia has received a further R3.02 million. Cameron says the combined R6.19 million raises serious questions about policing priorities, noting that Mchunu’s remuneration alone is equivalent to the annual salaries of about 13 experienced Constable-ranked detectives. He says the money could instead strengthen stretched Family Violence, Child Protection and Sexual Offences units, and is calling on President Cyril Ramaphosa to explain how long Mchunu’s special leave will continue and what the end point is. @IanCameron23

Well, in this part of the world, all the talk about being award-winning, what-what does not matter. You still have to cut your own grass. When I returned from South Africa, the lawn had become a proper jungle. So I had to do what men do; roll up my sleeves, start the mower and reclaim my garden from the wilderness. At one point, I was not sure whether I was cutting grass or clearing a wildlife reserve. Now the lawn is back under control, and I have officially earned my weekend. Kunouku ndiwe unenge uri mukoma webasa🤣🤣🤣 I am now thinking of an artificial lawn. Anyone in that business in the Northamptonshire area? Please inbox.
