More than forty years ago, the invention of EDA and CAD tools transformed silicon chip design and classical computing by providing a common software platform that could abstract away the underlying hardware design complexity. A similar abstraction is necessary to make quantum computers easy to use. This is the capability that @ClassiqTech brings to @intel.
Intel is now a full-stack quantum computing company. I am delighted to welcome Nir, Yehuda and Amir to Intel as we get ready to take our quantum computing group to the next level. @ashishtuli @LipBuTan1

Today, we announced that @intel has entered into an agreement to acquire @ClassiqTech, a recognized pioneer in quantum computing software and algorithms, based in Tel Aviv, Israel. This marks a transformational moment for Intel’s quantum computing group, as we establish a new Quantum Computing Business. With Classiq, Intel will become a full-stack quantum solutions provider and add QPUs to our already diverse compute platform portfolio spanning CPUs, GPUs and ASICs.
Super excited to welcome Nir Minerbi, Amir Naveh, Yehuda Naveh, and the talented Classiq team to Intel!

Today we call it “Purpose-Built Silicon”
On October 6, 1986, Intel expanded its commitment to the ASIC (Application-Specific Integrated Circuit) market, building custom-designed chips built to meet the specific needs of a particular application.
As we mark this 40-year milestone, we celebrate the employees whose vision, ingenuity, and determination helped shape this important chapter in Intel's history.
From the pioneers who launched Intel's ASIC efforts to those who continued building on that foundation, thank you for your contributions and lasting impact.

Tuning in to two legendary CEOs @CrowdStrike fal.con - @LipBuTan1 @George_Kurtz. Some key highlights:
On the new Intel... "Focused on customer listening and the only company able to design good products packaging, and manufacturing across full stack and focus on Agentic AI- from PC, client, all the way to the edge and physical AI and to enable the customers to take advantage of this..." - Lip-Bu Tan
"It's very important that security start with the silicon, then we create strong foundation for OS, security software and all the way to AI device and CrowdStrike extends this capability through the falcon platform - this is very exciting for us. We can deliver efficient compute for AI at the edge...providing confidential computing and protecting data and make sure its secure, less complex and also invisible to end user. " - Lip-Bu Tan
"I've known Lip-Bu for a long time, and he's one of the best in the industry and technology...
When we think about the silicon itself - there's tremendous security capabilities and I learned this when I spent a little bit of time with Intel after the McAffee acquisition, but there's probably a lot more security in your chips than people realize... part of this is telling the story of how this can be used... if you don't have the right way to activate it, if the software is not taking advantage of the operating system, then it's not as effective for customers. Part of what we want to be able to do is go deep inside with @intel into those very specific features that help us protect memory or read memory, or understand what's happening or create a root of trust for when the systems boots - these are very important; protected enclaves where things can be run and not modified-when we think about what happens today - with enough time and effort of running advanced models against operating systems or apps you are going to need something to ensure that you've got the root of trust all the way through your security stack. We've done a good job, in partnership with intel to be able to say what are the features we can use - there's a lot more that you have that the world should know because some amazing security technology and how do we activate that in a way that is best for customer, in a way that provides the best performance and best protection, while leveraging what is natively built into these chips" - George Kurtz

Agentic AI is fundamentally reshaping cybersecurity requirements. The industry needs security designed into the entire AI stack, starting with the silicon itself and not added as an afterthought. Thoroughly enjoyed my conversation with @CrowdStrike CEO @George_Kurtz at fal.con earlier today. @intel and CrowdStrike are uniquely positioned to combine hardware-level capabilities with cloud-native security intelligence.

Yesterday, @intel completed our planned capital raise of $20B in one of the largest follow-on equity offerings on record. With strong support from targeted long-term sovereign funds, fundamental growth and institutional investors, specialty hedge funds and retail investors, the round was oversubscribed >5X our initial goal.
Many thanks to our underwriters JP Morgan, Goldman Sachs, Morgan Stanley and Citigroup for their excellent support. With this additional capital, Intel is now well positioned to meet the tremendous growth opportunity ahead of us in advanced node wafer manufacturing, advanced packaging and the massive CPU demand. We remain laser focused on execution across all our businesses.
Along with the full support of our Board, my leadership team and I are fully committed to delivering strong returns to our shareholders in the coming years and to building a new and vibrant Intel.

Only few people may now be aware that @intel has been a memory technology pioneer since its founding in 1968:
1969: Intel's first product was a 64-bit Schottky bipolar static RAM, the world's first solid-state memory chip that helped move the industry from magnetic core to semiconductor memory.
1970: Intel shipped the first commercially successful DRAM chip (1 kbit 1103) and quickly displaced magnetic core memory in many systems.
1971: Intel invented Erasable Programmable Read-Only Memory (EPROM), which allowed users to program and erase code using ultraviolet light.
1988: Intel pioneered NOR flash, launching the first commercial NOR‑type flash chip in 1988 as a successor to EPROM for code storage.
2015: Intel introduced 3D XPoint, a new non‑volatile memory technology positioned as a distinct “third category” between DRAM and NAND flash in terms of speed, endurance, and density.
A love-hate relationship with memory, but memory innovation is in the DNA of intel.
Thank you for the memories!
