Dorothy Bain was just one of a succession of politically compromised, if not outright corrupt, Lord Advocates.
Whether or not it “helped” the SNP is completely irrelevant.
She fed information - that wasn’t public and which was not needed for the Scottish Government’s work - to the SNP.
The dual role of the Lord Advocate must end. Scotland’s top law officer should not be hand picked by the First Minister and sit in the Cabinet.
