And so, MAGA is not about greatness whatsoever, it is about ignorance: the luxury to ignore. It is about fantasy: the luxury to pursue a dream in which consequences of our actions do not exist; the luxury to pretend; the luxury to go back in time to

Here you go Sara...
"from businesses" = "from management teams who have no idea how the tools work and only slightly more idea what their downstream employees do on a task-by-task basis"
They have fallen for a sales pitch and are forcing it on employees hoping for some magical productivity to just emerge.
Employees (the "public") are the ones actually using these tools, and they are universally unimpressed. Pretty much any survey outside the AI ecosystem itself confirms this.
If the optimism were even moderately warranted, you would not see stories like these pretty much everywhere...

NEW: Indivisible is calling for a contested Senate leadership election, not a coronation.
It is time to take meaningful steps to demonstrate that Democrats are discarding the old, failed playbook.
Any Leader for the new fighting Democratic party must commit to the following:

cannot lead while enabling a genocide in Gaza - aipac spent huge sums of money against any candidate that questioned Isreal and Netenyahu’’s right to genocide .
This ⬇️ - and dem leadership needs a come to Jesus moment on this - right now .
This is not about getting even . It’s about re establishing the rule of law to defend and preserve all of our rights -
If one of us commits a crime - say drives drunk - the cops don’t have the choice to say hey - go sleep it off . It’s their duty to enforce the law -
The only check on the executive branch is the congress - when they see crimes committed it’s their constitutional duty to enforce the law .
With Trump and his cronies there have been literally hundreds of crimes in plain sight.
Reminds me when neoliberals decided the law doesn’t apply to elites when the US
Ran privatized gulags and torture dungeons.
Obama says
” it’s time to move on “
Which meant I don’t want to enforce the law becouse it will be hard politically.
We are still paying a horrible price fir that dereliction of duty
Where’s the deterrent
Message is if an elite the law doesn’t apply to you - the law is just for the help

I think we’re all starting to really take this for granted maybe? This is…like just the very best answer to this ridiculous framing. “Generational talent” is thrown out a lot but even that feels wrong. The best to do it in my lifetime.

Get a load of this fucktard: bulldozes half of the White House without congressional permission to construct a monstrosity that can only appeal to the vain empty tasteless bitches like him and thinks he can protect it forever? In just a couple of years, the Trump brand will be so toxic, it will come down every fucking building he’s ever touched.

Just like clockwork. The corporations that we VOTED to block from buying off politicians are suing to make sure...they can keep buying off politicians.

Letting Chuck Schumer, Hakeem Jeffries, and Nancy Pelosi back in charge is like signing up for Trump 3.0.
These three are famous for being Israel first, corporate bought, and insider trading. Which is why we got what we got in 2024.

In Fahrenheit 451, the chief book-burner, Captain Beatty, describes how reading became obsolete because the public demanded increasingly fast-paced entertainments, and those entertainments slowly corroded their ability to think. “Books cut shorter. Condensations. Digests, tabloids. Everything boils down to the gag, the snap ending. Classics cut to fit fifteen-minute radio shows, then cut again to fill a two-minute book column … Many were those whose sole knowledge of Hamlet was a one-page digest in a book that claimed, ‘Now at last you can read all the classics.’ … School is shortened, discipline relaxed, philosophies, histories, languages dropped, English and spelling gradually neglected, finally almost completely ignored. Life is immediate, the job counts, pleasure lies all about after work. Why learn anything save pressing buttons, pulling switches?”
In this passage Ray Bradbury foretells the intellectual hollowing out of the working class, the advent of AI-generated “summaries” of classic novels, the attention-frying culture of short-form video, the relaxation of educational standards into non-existence. All of this in a book published in 1953.

I am a scholar in the failed post civil war reconstruction, and I did my masters thesis on the damage that failure and unaccountable conservatives have done to this country for the last 150yrs to this day, and we are on a precipice here again. America must stop allowing capitalism to preclude democracy, and hold the robber barons, racists, murderers, and corrupt politicians accountable, or this “revolutionary” election doesn’t mean shit.

To the families of Renee Good, Juan Sebastian Guerrero (killed right here in Biddeford), Lorenzo Salgado Araujo, and everyone else murdered and harmed by ICE……
it’s time for accountability.

Anyone seeking to understand the midterm’s lessons should start here:
Democrats won by being populist economic fighters who were unafraid to call out the corrupt politicians and corporate interests who have rigged the system at the expense of everyone else.

playing devil's advocate for a second, but how do we go after affordability if we don't arrest and jail those who purposefully made life unaffordable in the first place? that's on top of all our money being sent to israel. so...? what the actual hell is jeffries talking about?

I love that guys like these try to lecture people to their left about how to appeal to average Americans. Average Americans can't stand people like these guys. Try going to a local bar and talking like these assholes. Your politics appeals to CEO's and beltway pricks, that's it.

There’s an easy cure for this and it’s called medieval peasant-maxxing. You need to be building fires and playing festive carols. You need to be taking long walks, learning crafts and listening to stories read aloud. You need to be loading up on cheese and breads and pies.

A quick thread on the upcoming Congress:
The choice isn't between investigations and legislating. You can do both! In fact, the best investigations are done in service of learning more so that legislative reforms are more informed and targeted.
