I wasn't going to wear it this year, but I changed my mind. For the captain who inspired a generation. Thank you, Sir Patrick Stewart.

I'm still pushing for a Nobel Prize for the Voyager team. Outlasted its mission by 45 years and counting. Incredible.
We used to get 26 episode seasons of this w/ ~3 months between seasons. It took Stranger things over 9 years to put out 42 episodes, while TNG ran 178 episodes in less than 7. I legitimately believe old shows still hold their place in our culture bc there's so much to talk about

If you fly commandos into Florida the local government is going to turn the Hurricane warning system into a PA just so they can inform the redneck population what the bag limit is and tell them you can't taxidermy dead Brazilians.

I stick mostly to editing nowadays, but threw this history post together on Patrick Stewart's 2006 trip to Michigan Stadium, where he told the Wolverines to "boldly go and beat the Buckeyes!" For @MLive @annarbornews

This scene was originally written for Jude Law, which, I think we can all agree, wouldn't have been nearly as good. For the joke to work, it has to be someone with inherent gravitas. It works so well because Stewart plays it so dead straight, which not many actors could pull off. – at Cardiff, Wales

The Indian security company that used 4 as a private key also lacks basic account security.
To sign into your account, you enter your email and receive a 4 digit code.
There are no limits on login attempts. You can try all 10,000 combinations.
The Indian government uses this.
eMudhra login to download customer's certs can be cracked
Their 1FA login generates a OTP & sends it. It also sends a RSA public key to front end
They haven't rate limited checks, so you can offline brute force 0 to 9999 encrypted with public key & find the OTP

My favorite performance of Patrick Stewart was in the TNG episode "Tapestry".
There are some days I look back to this episode for a reminder of overcoming difficulties and harsh truths.
I used to beat myself up over bad choices I had made and bad people I associated with. Led me into to conflicts, ruination, and at worst: homelessness.
But those were the things that made me into who I was. A lot of people just give up. They might lose their mind or spirit along the way. But you can't ever give those up -they're all you really have.
That almost sounds like it could be a cope, but in many cases, that's just how it goes. You have to live to know.

SIR PATRICK STEWART (1940-2026)
Before everything else, Patrick was defined by being born and bred in Yorkshire, the proud county in the north of England which he loved to the end. You could hear it in his accented voice and in the stern honesty with which he told you what he thought and felt. Yorkshiremen have no truck with half-truths or avoidance of big issues. He wore his heart on his sleeve, which made him a man to rely on, to admire and in my case, love.
We first met as ambitious young actors with the Royal Shakespeare Company half a century ago but we weren’t in the same productions. My first strong memory was a few years later, meeting him in the street in central London when he told me about an offer to take over a leading part in 'Star Trek'. “But Patrick think of your stage career in the UK. Do you really want to risk—getting lost in Hollywood for years and years?”. Well, he took the risk and thank goodness for us all that he did for not just his devoted Trekkies but film and theatre audiences, who marvelled at his using international celebrity to star in a string of cinema successes ('X-Men' of course) and in great classical plays by Shakespeare, Ibsen, Arthur Miller, Peter Shaffer, Pinter and Beckett at Stratford-upon-Avon, in London’s West End and on Broadway.
America was his adopted home, where he met his adored Sunny who has cared for him through sickness and health, through thick and thin. But he never forsook his origins: and the proudest achievement of the most respected and beloved actor of his generation on either side of the Atlantic, was his appointment as Chancellor of Huddersfield University in Yorkshire.
His farewell performance in 'Avengers: Doomsday' is yet to be seen.

Terry, diagnosed with ALS in 2024, is now speaking again using only his thoughts.
The implant translates brain signals into words, with Grok Voice restoring his own natural voice.
Watching him hear himself speak again is incredibly powerful.
This is what restoring human connection looks like. Truly life-changing. As found.

The year is 1999. You’re 16 years old sitting shotgun in your best friend’s 1991 Nissan Sentra. It has an Alpine deck and two 12’s in the back he bought from a guy named Mike (surely stolen). Feel Me Flow by Naughty by Nature blasts. He drops you off at your girlfriend’s house where you’ll touch boobs under the bra for the first time while watching Tremors. The second one that doesn’t even have Kevin Bacon. Her dad comes home just as she reaches under your JNCO’s. It’s painful but it’s also the greatest night of your life. Your friend picks you up and you go smoke a bowl in your school’s dugout. You talk about how you’ll either be a Navy Seal or on Saturday Night Live. You get a page from your mom and go home, check AIM and pass out. Life is good.
