Mary was assumed body and soul into Heaven. I have always & certainly accept this in faith. I mean, it just made sense to me. Logically: Why, would God the Father allow His son to be born of a “regular woman’s” womb? Why would God pick “any old regular woman” to bear His only Son? If in fact, His Son was meant to redeem the world from original sin. So, why would God send His only Son to redeem the world from Adam’s sin if he also didn’t intend to create a perfect woman to correct Eve’s sin? How could there possibly be a new Adam without a new Eve? I could not see it any other way. There must be a perfect woman that God chose for the God Man. A perfect human woman that the Holy Spirit physically entered. Nothing else makes any sense: There must be a perfect woman free from sin and immaculately conceived by the Author of life. What I have always embraced through faith was completely logical to me. Faith and reason is and has always been the foundation of the Catholic faith. Now consider something science has discovered called microchimerism. During pregnancy, cells pass between mother and child through the placenta. Some of the child’s cells can remain in the mother’s body for decades—sometimes becoming incorporated into her tissues and organs. Think about that for a minute. The Blessed Mother carried God Himself in her womb. Jesus did not merely “pass through” Mary. Mary was not a vessel. Vessels cannot say “yes”. A vessel has no free will & is a mere “master’s instrument to be disposed of when it is emptied. He took His human flesh from her. Her body nourished His Body. Her blood sustained Him. And biologically, it is entirely plausible that cells originating from Jesus remained within Mary after His birth. Let that sink in. Mary may have continued to carry within her cells originating from the literal Body of Jesus Christ. As Pope Pius XII wrote: “The Immaculate Mother of God, the ever Virgin Mary, having completed the course of her earthly life, was assumed body and soul into heavenly glory.” Her flesh gave Him flesh. She carried Him on earth. And He brought her, body and soul, to Heaven. Catholicism is absolutely beautiful.

Prayer to Maximillian Kolbe for healing from addiction: O St. Maximilian Kolbe, faithful servant of God and true martyr of charity, you showed heroic courage in offering your life to save another. You trusted completely in the Immaculate Virgin Mary and found strength in Christ even in the darkest moments. We ask for your intercession now, as we struggle with the chains of addiction. Pray for us, that we may have the courage to reject what harms us and embrace a life of freedom and grace. Help us to trust in God’s mercy and to find healing in His love. O great saint, you who gave hope to the hopeless, be with us in our battle. Through your prayers, may we be strengthened to overcome temptation, find peace in our hearts, and grow closer to God each day. St. Maximilian Kolbe, patron of those suffering from addiction, pray for us.
