Forced birth in a country with:
—No universal healthcare
—No universal childcare
—No paid family & medical leave
—One of the highest rates of maternal mortality among rich nations
This isn't about "life." It's about control.

So what CAN we actually do? Well, individual decisions (eating less meat, taking public transport, buying less fast fashion) are all important, but we also need to change the system. As you may know, just 100 companies are responsible for 71% of global emissions. 7/

OK, Twitter, look - it's time to have a talk. I've been seeing a lot of climate despair on here lately, and I understand it's cathartic to voice your deepest fears, but at this point in time, that despair is also a self-fulfilling prophecy. I work for an environmental charity- 1/

One thing that makes me upset in the startup space is the absolute disrespect given to so-called “lifestyle businesses”. Even re-framing to calling them “million $ businesses” would help take away the negative stigma. Way too many talented founders avoid this biz type b/c of it.

The U.S. spends more than $100 billion on policing per year. For many major cities, police department budgets make up a disproportionate amount of overall spending, even as other departments face steep cuts.

“Defund” means that Black & Brown communities are asking for the same budget priorities that White communities have already created for themselves: schooling > police, etc.
People asked in other ways, but were always told “No, how do you pay for it?”
So they found the line item.

Feeling so grateful and proud for everyone who worked so tirelessly to make this happen. So much more to say, but first... SLEEP
