I was really worried about having kids I’ve always wanted them, But at the end of the day I just didn’t feel ready Felt like I had a lot I needed to do in my career, my marriage, my finances But my wife and I had been together for 11 years I was turning 30, and at some point if you’re going to have kids, you actually have to have them So last year, with trepidation, we decided it was time to start I cannot explain to you the amount of joy my son has brought me in the last 5 months If you are on the fence of having kids, I can’t recommend it stronger This is Sammy’s first time in a pool

Funny to think how much has happened in 3 years I’m pretty bullish on the next 3
Had a full circle moment yesterday @MainStSummit And got to host a happy hour at Shakespeare’s pizza for 50+ entrepreneurs to meet and connect. 3 years ago, I had just joined SMB twitter. For the previous 6 years, @DTinSD and I had been building our property management business. By the start of 2023, it became clear that we needed to expand our network—it’s a scary thing to be the “most successful entrepreneurs” you know. Especially when you know you’re not particularly successful. So 1/1/23 I had found SMBtwitter and started posting. Immediately I found my Tribe. Other entrepreneurs in the trenches doing cool stuff, building, learning, sharing. About 3 months in I met @chrisxmunn (now a business partner), and a couple months after that I met @CoFoundersNik when he dm’d me to compare notes on X growth. He introduced me the @sodacitysimpson and I also joined @meetmikehiggins dads group with @TJLarkin23. Then in October, for the first time, much to my wife’s obvious concern—I jumped on a plane and flew to Columbia Missouri to “meet up with my internet friends.” @huntercdurham slept on our couch. And the second night @SMB_Attorney and @KHendersonCo hosted an open bar/pizza happy hour for anyone who wanted to stop by. That night, I met a couple dozen Twitter folks in person, I sat at a booth with @mhp_guy and watched him and Nik literally make everyone cry with laughter. And that was the first night Cole, Mike, Nik and I discussed an idea for helping other twitter folks to meet create a group and learn how to grow on X from each other. 6 months later, that conversation turned into Growth Madness that brought together 100+ Twitter folks into pods to learn how to post and share and grow together. We became unofficial stewards of the SMBX torch for 3 years and helped countless people connect and grow on here. That first year my group was called the Content Cowwboys and 3 years later, @ShannonJean @trevizo_gabe @tyler @AlexForbesOps @Depesh_Vyas @SuccessWithJake @DannyMagazu @joebenson @nahuelhilal and I are about to meet up in Nola for the 3rd annual retreat we do. We chat every day in our original twitter dm group. It all started with getting out of my comfort zone and a hosted happy hour at a college pizza joint in Columbia Missouri. And 3 years ago, I had just started @HirePavago as a little recruitment business with not too much of a plan. Last night, I got to return the favor—I got to host a happy hour at that same conference and at that same pizza joint for 50+ entrepreneurs to hang out and network, and hopefully build some relationships that will last a life time. And this time, 3 years later that little recruitment business had just launched its talent marketplace with hundreds of customers and a plan to take over the world. I can’t really express how much Main St Summit and SMBx have changed my life. I literally have life long friends, business partners, confidants and mentors who I have talked to hundreds of times, all found by putting myself out there, writing on the internet, getting on planes, walking up to strangers at a conference. And yesterday, I was incredibly proud to be able to do that for others. If there is one thing I could encourage in this community—it would be to meet people. Share your experience, strangers on the internet are reading it, they are learning from you, they are rooting for you, and they want you to dm them, support them, learn from them too. I’m proud to be a part of this community and to have watched so many incredible people grow and to have hopefully helped that growth in my own small way.

Nate was awesome Helped us get to the next level
our client just fired us. he's a roofer who films himself giving free roofs to struggling families. we started on his channel in june at about 100,000 subscribers. three months later he has 300,000. then he told us he's hiring a full-time team. that is the best outcome an agency can get. our job was never to run his channel forever. our job was to help them build the foundations they needed to scale and build a format he can repeat every single week. he has both now, so he doesn't need us. it all started with a cold dm on x, and now we've had the pleasure of helping SodaCity impact the lives of dozens of struggling families, and touch the hearts of millions with their content. we got "fired" because they got what they needed to accomplish their goals, and i would take that every time.

Reimagined hiring Love to see it
Two years of building. Today is Day 1 of our relentless march to fix hiring for everyone. Hiring sucks. Businesses hate it. Job seekers hate it. Everyone has accepted it as the cost of finding people. The reason is friction. -Friction to post. -Friction to review resumes. -Friction to schedule. -Friction to share. -Friction to contract and onboard. It’s friction. So we built a marketplace designed to remove friction. Made by recruiters, for businesses that don’t have time to recruit. Search a role. Match with the right people in seconds. Watch intro videos. Book interviews for tomorrow. All in under 15 minutes. That’s Scout OS. A searchable marketplace for busy owners and hiring managers who need great people in minutes. Browse 400k candidates with a free profile. Want to interview? $99/mo. Cancel anytime, or when the hire is done. You only pay the success fee after the contract is signed: $1,999. To celebrate our launch, half off for the first 30 days — $999. You get 60 days of hire protection free. Payroll, assessments, and the rest are in the product. After 60 days, $149/mo. Cancel anytime. 200+ businesses are already hiring on it. If you complete a hire in the next 30 days, the success fee is half off— $999. Try it. When it works, send it to a friend. You get 10% back on every hire they make for the first year.

If you are a home services business owner and you want to scale This is what I would recommend above basically anything else My .02
We’re opening the doors to Wilson Companies. + 100 home service operators. + 3 days in Akron. + Shop tours. + Tactical breakouts. Most importantly: Real conversations with operators building and scaling right now. Catalyst is coming May 3–5, 2027. ownedandoperated.com/catalys…

Know the game you’re playing Business owners who want to grow they’re business regularly ask me about YouTube Steve is going to be a way better resource than me in B2B
Everything becomes attainable when you just turn lofty goals into math. I wanted to build a personal brand in the home services space. I didn’t just go “I want a million subs” because the 1-2 subs gained a day for the first 3 months would bury me. I looked at 2 channels adjacent to my niche that I felt did a good job of giving value and staying genuine: Alex Hormozi and Codie Sanchez. I went to their socialblades and looked at their daily subscribers gained numbers compared to their long form video uploads. Both didn’t see crazy growth until a couple HUNDRED long form YouTube videos. So I said to myself… let me commit to 24-36 months of inputs. 2 videos a week, never skipping an upload. And I can CONTROL THAT. Whatever happens to the sub counts and business is secondary. 2 years later: Sub counts are small, but that YouTube channel is hands down our most important asset company wide. We do high 5 to low 6 figures of sales a month from that channel. But if I just focused on why I’m not at 100k subs yet we’d never get there. Everything is so much more attainable if you just put math behind the inputs YOU can control. I would have quit a long time ago if I was looking at every upload wondering why not a viral sensation yet. The same is true for literally every business goal you have.

This is the game I’m trying to play
Wilson revenue: 2020: $4.8M 2026: ~$53M That’s more than 10X growth in six years. Reminder: you don't need to win everywhere. Just keep taking more market share in the places you already serve. Your local market is probably bigger than you think.

I love when people ask me a question And then my answer is too hard so they argue with me that I don’t really understand and tell me what the answer really is It’s awesome
