just cried all the way to Nordstrom because this is the second time i have been cut off at the confession line as mass is starting. it’s the most irritating thing when older people take 5 mins for a confession when there is a long line and they know time is running out

living near things to do during winter is crucial. outdoor activities, museums, libraries, shopping, restaurants, etc. getting out is necessary so you can actually appreciate the coziness of your home and not feel as confined to it
One element of winter that's hard to love is how claustrophobic it can be. You're kind of "stuck" where you are, mostly. Walking around is very difficult. Driving anywhere is difficult and often dangerous. Snow removal is endless. You wind up cooped up in the house often, sometimes for weeks and weeks. Visitors don't come by because the roads are too nasty. Dropping by after work is doubly unlikely because it gets so dark so early. After years of being a winter lover, I concede that this stuff only really works if you're someone with a super strong community very close by, reasonably content in your house, with the kind of time preference to allow you not to go anywhere when the roads are dangerous, etc. It also helps if you ski, though of course, every skier is one injury away from retirement (ask me how I know). If you lack these things, winter does absolutely suck. I'll admit I'm not exactly looking forward to it this year. Fair chance we won't do the whole thing, I dunno.

you know what? if you are a recovered addict, or you are healing from C-PTSD or even true BPD? don’t buy into that horseshit that you’re required to go on some sort of self-flaggelating apology tour. you don’t have to explain shit to nobody who you don’t actively care to have in your new, healed life. if someone kicked you while you were already down and now that you’re better they want you to come back around and kiss their ass? fuck that person. they can’t come with you into your brighter future, because they hate you and were keeping you sick. let them demonize you and keep talking shit, they more they do it the more it will confirm to you that cutting them off was a great idea

being misdiagnosed with BPD so the people who caused the C ptsd can avoid accountability by pathologizing it and blaming it on the inevitable “genetic condition mental illness” this is why people kill themselves but i never will
A lot of people with “BPD” have complex PTSD that is being exacerbated by the people around them who either caused the C-PTSD or were magnetized into the unhealed person’s life and are deliberately keeping them sick so they are easy to control & take advantage of. It’s easier to pathologize the victim than hold the abusive parties accountable

Americans are driven to eating junk to engorgement without practicing self control because we treat food like drugs, culturally we are looking to be soothed by it (especially below the mason dixon)
Best way to describe GLP-1s for me is that it allows for the distance to objectively evaluate your food options instead of being driven to eat them even when they’re not worth it. The French seem to have this ability innately but I fear I do not

my 4y/o getting dressed is such an event. any drama in the house with her is about this. i’m helping find pants and babysitter is doing her hair because she does it better than me. she’s dressing in layers and she needs everything to look perfect for the indoor playground

also recently my aunt’s english bulldog bit my adult cousin horribly while she was visiting and he’s bitten people multiple times! if a dog cannot stop biting people that needs to be a dead dog
the stories i’ve heard about dogs (mostly boomers) mauling people (even their own children! And grandkids!!) without a single consequence towards the animal is so telling of our times. toddler nearby needed reconstructive surgery from his PASTOR grandma’s doodle and she KEPT IT
