I grew up in the 70s. Sat playing Monopoly by candlelight during the winter of discontent. The 70s have nothing on how bad the 2020s have been (so far).

Sooooo... I just make my agent "smart" enough to claim that all my reservation attempts are for a decade-special birthday. Bless him for his innocence. But sure, let's "rewrite the internet" (whatever that means).

"Committed realist" says your bio. Well, clearly your reality has nothing to do with ours. Those outside your reality distortion field watch privatised water companies pay billions to shareholders, take on massive debt and pump raw sewage into our rivers.

You’re not wrong, but he’s just so annoying, constantly whining on about such a trivial issue.

These “relevant experts “, are they in the room with you now? A computer can be no more conscious than a light switch. The problem is people are anthropomorphising LLMs, which are just stochastic parrots.

This is the problem when people with no knowledge of computer architecture or software start anthropomorphising a glorified chatbot.

It's not the Prime Minister's job. These morons, who are the absolute scum of the earth, are the ones who need to take responsibility.

I agree. I think AI companies should be held to the same standard as other companies: if one of your employees hacks a company, you're liable. All we have here is the classic Computer Science solution of introducing an extra level of indirection. An employee set that model going.

Once again, Buzz Lightyear sums you up: “You are a sad, strange little man and you have my pity.”

You could have just finished your sentence at, "...we all don't think."

If that's the case, why don't you do everyone in the U.K. a solid and go and live in Russia? See how much fun that is. And yes, I've been to Russia many times, so I do know what I'm talking about.

I've been listening to the @virginmedia on-hold Jazz music for over 20 minutes (so far), and it's really starting to grate. Also, it's *really* unnecessary to tell me every 10 seconds that the lines are busy; I already deduced that!

“Observing reality “, your bio says. Not very good at that are you? Maybe read up a bit on how you can’t just fill your diesel car or lorry with crude oil. Julian was clearly failed by the education system.

Nothing says, "I'm a racist" like assuming that the colour of a child's skin dictates their nationality.
