Today, we are announcing an agreement to acquire ADT.
Home security has the qualities we look for in the businesses we own: an essential service built on specialist expertise and earned trust.
We see an opportunity to build on that foundation for decades, investing in its people and technology to deliver the best outcomes for customers.
Our ambition is to help ADT define the next era of trusted home security.

Choosing the right AI model is an operating decision.
Today, we’re sharing our first set of benchmarks drawn from work across the 75+ accounting and IT services firms that make up Thrive Holdings.
We believe the field needs more benchmarks tied to economically valuable work, so builders can understand where models are useful in real-world environments.
We use these tests to help us compare model configurations and choose which models our systems run on, with the goal of delivering better service to our customers.
We’ll add to the benchmarks as we build new products and expand to additional industries.

the downfall of GitHub may ultimately be due to the downfall of git
New on our Engineering blog: Creating in-house source control.
In May, we merged around 2,500 code changes per day. In September, we merged more than 30,000 per day. As a result, we became bottlenecked by developer infrastructure built for human (rather than agent) scale.
Here, we share how we built a new version control system—and fully migrated our monorepo from git—in five months: anthropic.com/engineering/re…
kinda funny how no one is paying attention to this stuff 🛸
INSIDE THE GOVERNMENT'S UAP FILES: "Bret, both the defense contractor community and the government have craft of non-human origin. There is an ongoing program to capture and reverse engineer this technology, and really we're in a secret Cold War race to do that." @jaystratton
Jay Stratton pulls back the curtain on over three decades of classified military and intelligence work. Stratton discusses that the U.S. government and defense contractors maintain programs to capture and reverse-engineer non-human technology. Going further than ever before, Stratton confirms he has personally witnessed non-human craft and beings with his own eyes, criticizing an 80-year monopoly that has kept these monumental truths hidden from the American public.
this is one of the best things to come out of the AI era
I'm so sick and tired of my Sonos speakers never working correctly (the last straw today was trying to get Muse to act as a DJ for me using my Spotify likes as a guide) that I decided to just say screw it and started FrankenSonos.
The goal is to just reverse engineer everything and do it correctly using Rust and all my libraries like asupersync and so forth.
I'd also like to get it to all work seamlessly with Tailscale if I can. Maybe I'll be able to make my own FrankenFirmware for them and then I can finally be rid of their garbage software completely.
I have a mixture of older S1 hardware and the newer S2 hardware in my house, so I'm being careful to support all of it seamlessly in a unified, coherent way.
The irony is that they are incredibly awesome-sounding speakers when they actually DO work. And you can buy them on eBay pretty inexpensively. The software is just so bad and broken that it ruins everything.

We're hiring at the National Design Studio!
Yesterday we launched America.gov, the first step toward replacing thousands of outdated government websites with one product. You can ask it anything and get an answer from a verified government source.
But this is just the start. Next, we're building features that let you renew your passport, enroll in Medicare, and book a campsite at a national park, and so much more, all in one place.
We're looking for great engineers and designers to help build it. If that sounds like you, my DMs are open
OpenAI has hired a bunch of the best product builders I know over the past few years. You can see that shining through now.
