Tribalist. Bigot.
These words have been beaten so dead they barely mean anything anymore. They're rarely factual descriptions of actual prejudice against Ibo people; instead, they've become lazy buzzwords and emergency brakes thrown around the moment one of them is losing an argument or trying to dodge basic accountability.
Hold an Ibo person accountable for bad behavior, point out an undeniable pattern, or simply refuse to bend to their entitlement complex, and suddenly you're a "tribalist" who hates an entire ethnicity.
Not because you actually do, but because that's the fastest way an accountability-averse person can derail a point they cannot defend on its merits.
They don't have to engage with facts, defend their actions, or offer a logical rebuttal. They just have to slap the "bigot" label on you, play the perpetual victim, and recruit an emotional mob to attack you on their behalf.
Refuse to support Peter Obi for president, and the same tag comes out. You're suddenly a bigot, a tribalist, and someone who can't stand to see an Ibo man in power, regardless of whether you have entirely different, valid reasons for your choice of candidate.
It's the same old tactic: skip the argument, police speech, and make the other person the villain so the actual issue gets completely buried.
Playing the victim card isn't new; it's one of the oldest tools in the book for people who refuse to look in the mirror.
Point out entitlement, call out double standards, or demand an equal standard of behavior, and the reply isn't logic, it's the tag.
Even those within their own group who speak out rationally get labeled betrayers or self-haters.
These words aren't used to combat real discrimination anymore. They're used to shut people up, silence honest discourse, and ironically, water down the vileness of actual tribalism.
Fortunately, people are done playing along. The tags still get thrown, but they just don't land like they used to.

It will be an economic blow to Ondo state, especially the ilaje people in Ondo if this one in a life time infrastructure bypass them. Although we are not sure yet, but if I were Ondo indigene, and I have powerful connection I will lobby heaven and earth to ensure we are included.
3.4 million naira to marry what dozens of other men got for free is ludicrous. The man who disflowered her probably only gave her noodles and eggs or biscuits and ice cream.
Besides, why do some families think taking a high bride price is a flex? Is it poverty, or what's this about?
No be their fault sha. Nigeria has an abundance of simps. And they must pay for their foolishness.
My guy just collected his official bride price list over the weekend.
The elders handed him a neat, four-page document totaling ₦3.4M, including separate levies for youths, elders, and unmarried daughters. He was grumbling and His babe said her family was even more considerate because she stepped in.

In 1955, only about 25 people in New York City practised the Orisha tradition.
One of its pioneers was Pancho Mora (Ifá Morote), who arrived in New York in 1946. Initiated as a high priest of Ifá in Cuba in 1944, he helped establish the city’s first Orisha house and Babalawo
Whenever a woman asks you for something, your default answer must always be NO. But if you're a nice person and you don't want to hurt her feelings, you can respond with "I will see what I can do." If she comes back later to ask for an update, watch this video for your next response.

Here is the difference. Our women dont wear gele to "special occasions" only. We wear it even to the market. Here is a 1948 video of Ibadan women in the market. Look at the ibo women in the market in the 60s...

IKWERRE NOBI IBO
Boldly written, without mincing words, we are a distinct ethnic group just like others in Nigeria.
IKWERRE know their brothers (Ekpeye & Ogba), and our brothers known us.
Nobody can annex IKWERRE land, be warned.

They want everything you have.
Thats why in whatever thing, the first point of reference for them is Yoruba.
“If Yoruba can have assess go sea on Lagos, why should we not have too” - an Igbo elder.
So, it’s not just politics, or just fashion. This is an obsession they have. Bore out of envy and the ultra liberalism of the Yoruba people.
