The latest trend on farm TikTok is people saying that kids who go to their state FFA convention in October aren't real farmers.
You're really telling on yourself if your business can't operate for 3 days without your teenage child.
Maybe the world isn't so shitty after all...
> 2 brothers inherited 568 acres from Dad
> Neither farms. Dad retired 8 years ago
> No strings attached to the inheritance
> But both brothers agreed: "Dad would've wanted to help out a young farmer"
> So they're selling the land to the 28-year-old son of the farmer currently farming it.
Here are the terms:
→ 75% of appraised value
→ $0 down payment
→ Minimum interest rate allowed by IRS
→ 30-year amortization
→ 15 annual payments
→ Balloon payment at year 15
> They could've sold to the highest bidder
> Instead, they're giving a young farmer a chance
> Not every landowner is interested in squeezing the last dollar out of every acre.
Check this bad boy out. 2 miles from my place. The storm chaser roofing contractors are crawling like ants today.
Reed Timmer was cruising around my neighborhood in the Dominator today, which is cool, but also not cool
I just rolled my eyes so hard they did a backflip
Today, I am thinking about the men and women who feed America.
The farmer in the field before sunrise. The rancher checking cattle after dark. The packer, the trucker, the processor, the grocer. The USDA teams working weekends and holidays to protect our livestock and our food supply.
They do not clock out when the country sits down to eat. Their work is the backbone of this nation.
Thank you to every American who works with their hands, their heart, and their grit to keep this country strong.
God bless our workers. God bless American agriculture. God bless the United States of America. 🇺🇸

“The problem with farming is there are too many people willing to do it for free.”
Trucking and farming are very similar.

104yo farmer decides it's "about time to retire."
Hopefully his geriatric kids can handle running the operation without him.

Brix is often presented as an indicator of plant health. However, after more than 1,000 measurements, our conclusion is quite different: Brix reflects the juice extraction method, not the health status of the plant.

First tillage, now mowing? What's grandpa supposed to do, live in AZ and play pickleball full time?
100+ hours in the orchard with SwarmBot Rosella & the Piranha 4100 H3 🎉
Together with Ben Wye Engineering & Design, we’ve clocked up 100+ hours of field testing with the fully hydraulic-drive slasher — and it’s performing beyond expectations.
What makes hydraulic drive so powerful for autonomous mowing is the level of data it gives us while the machine is working. We’re capturing pressure, oil temperature, rotor RPM and relief-valve activity, allowing us to calculate true rotor torque and optimise the system in real time.
This is exactly the kind of data-driven partnership SwarmConnect was built for — combining real-world machine performance with the data needed to keep pushing autonomous mowing forward.
Plenty more testing ahead, but one thing is becoming clear: hydraulic drive is the future of autonomous mowing.

Soil Health is an illusion with constant plateaus of ‘back patting’
Soil Care is real and very definable which creates soil functionality and resilience
Replying to @660ag @YieldUnlimited
My definition is pretty loose - not overly scientific - just whether we’re maintaining and/or building soil vs losing/degrading it. I think we get so caught up in numbers and tests and bullshit but I’m more concerned about trends and the long-term. Are we improving it or not?
