Looking forward to talking about Burroughs with @StealThisSingul on an episode of Esoteric Beat we got in the works. My favorite story R.U. told me about the guy is he didn't realize WSB was hitting on him.

I'm gonna read the Burroughs story in Three Fisted Tales of "Bob" which I borrowed from your library to prep.

A colleague recommended assigning this text to help undergraduates navigate the emergence of theories of value and their relationship to the division of labor. The first two chapters outline the trajectory from Smith to Marx and the emergence and influence of the marginalists.

Oh his attractiveness was known. Here’s no less than Ursula LeGuin writing about the show also for TV Guide about two years later
One memory I always have of Patrick Stewart is that in one year TV Guide ran a reader’s poll for the sexiest man and woman on TV. And even before the Internet, somehow the Star Trek fans created a campaign to try and get Patrick Stewart to win. And they succeeded! At the time it was a funny shock. Even the cover of the TV Guide called it a “surprise”! People seemed to mention a lot that he was bald and that it was odd for a bald man to win sexiest man, let alone it being Patrick Stewart from Star Trek of all people! Especially given that his counterpart who won sexiest woman was Cindy Crawford! The funny thing is that if people were told today that Patrick Stewart won sexiest man on TV one year during TNG’s run, I don’t think anyone these days would think it odd or anything. It almost sounds silly to describe it how I remembered it was back then, that it was a shock and almost a laughable result that he’d won. I feel like people nowadays would react with, “Yeah? He should have won!”

Israel is a preferential democracy. And figuring out how to integrate 2 million Palestinian citizens is critical to a Jewish democratic state. The JL may be bridge too far Gadi. Though look at Bibi’s buddies - Smotrich and Ben Gvir.

Bald nerds like myself owe this great man an inestimable debt.
Patrick Stewart reveals he was so concerned when he went bald at age 19 because he thought his love life was over “Surely, by the 24th century, they will have found a cure for male pattern baldness.” The question: “It doesn’t make any sense. You’ve got a bald actor playing this part.” Gene Roddenberry: “No, by the 24th century, no one will care.” On the comment: “It was one of the nicest things that’s ever been said about men like me.” On shaved heads: “It was nice for a while when I saw all of these shaved heads, but it began to irritate me, frankly.” On people with hair: “When somebody has a magnificent head of hair, that honestly, when I was nineteen, I would have loved to have had. And they shave it all off, and I feel that somehow they’re kind of infringing on my territory.” Losing his hair: “Nineteen, it all happened within the space of a year. It was horrible, it was horrible. I thought everything was over. Especially, you know, one aspect of my life.” “Finished. Nobody’s gonna want… Over.”

Frasier has like four or five episodes about being mistaken for being gay and the one where ‘is being assumed to be gay so bad if it means I date Patrick Stewart as an opera conductor and I get first class tickets’ is, well. Yeah that’s a good pitch
RIP Patrick Stewart. What a blow. Dreadfully sad news. Terrific story teller, knight of the round table, and all timer Frasier guest star.

"you'll read this in his voice" confuses me to no end. There's no way you all actually hear voices while reading, right? On top of the whole "hearing voices" shit which seems bad enough to begin with, wouldn't that drastically slow your reading speed???
Sir Patrick Stewart describes his first experience of a Hamburger in America. (You’ll read this in his voice)
